Arrival at Maroochydore Library
Maroochydore Library is situated on Sixth Avenue, surrounded by lush greenery and wide, step-free pathways. The building is modern, with a mix of glass and concrete, providing a welcoming entrance. There are three accessible car parking spaces on the street. From the car park, a step-free ramp and paved concrete pathways lead to the entrance.
The public bathrooms are located to the left of the library. The accessible bathroom, equipped with a toilet with grab bars, is in a separate building, available during library hours. Visitors will likely enjoy a calm and peaceful atmosphere, with the sound of distant waves adding to the serenity.
Entry
The library entrance features multiple book return chutes in front, making it easy for visitors to return books before entering. The building is modern with automatic glass sliding doors. Inside, the central service pod with 'Ask Join' in large font suggests a welcoming atmosphere with staff ready to assist.
The library is spacious with well-organized shelves and digital kiosks. Visitors are likely to be returning or borrowing books, engaging with staff, or using digital resources. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, perfect for reading or studying.
Main Library
The Maroochydore Library has a vibrant atmosphere with brick and glass architecture. The kids' zone includes colourful seating and book displays shaped like vans, while wide aisles and varied shelving patterns make navigation easy. Along the walls, shelves hold a large collection of books, and display tables in the centre showcase new arrivals and featured selections.
Comfortable seating is arranged near the windows, creating a cosy reading space. The adult literature section is quiet, with natural light and comfortable seating. There are study rooms with glass doors offering privacy. An outdoor patio, accessible via an outward opening glass door provides a peaceful area for reading or relaxing.
Leval 1 - Computer Area
From reception, turning left leads to an elevator or narrow stairwell with handrails that ascends to level 1. Here, a dedicated computer and printing area supports focused study and research. The printing station is on the right, with rows of computers adjacent to it.
The design features brick walls and a sloping roof, giving an elevated view of the library below. Bright lighting, comfortable seating, and functional workstations create a productive and accessible space, suited for professional use and study.
Level 1 - Event & Reading Room
The Event and Reading Room at Maroochydore Library is a quiet, relaxed reading space located on level one, accessible via an elevator or three steps. To access this space, proceed straight towards the stairs with handrails at the far end of the room. The room features comfortable couches and high-back chairs, ideal for extended reading sessions.
The environment is calm, with a partitioned section for classroom-style teaching or presentations. The space is carpeted, with bookshelves lining the walls, and ample natural light from windows. People are likely to read newspapers, study, or attend presentations. The atmosphere is serene, encouraging focus and relaxation.
