Arrival at Jack Hort Memorial Community Pool

The Jack Hort Memorial Community Pool, located in Camerons Rd in Healesville is set in a rural area surrounded by established gum trees and farmland. The low-set building is constructed with a mix of concrete and glass, and is surrounded by a black metal fence. 

The parking area is spacious with designated accessible car parking spaces close to the entrance. From the car park, there are paved concrete pathways leading to the entrance, accessible via an outward-opening glass door. 

The environment is calm and serene, with the gentle rustling of leaves and distant bird calls. Visitors are likely to engage in swimming and leisure activities, enjoying a relaxed and refreshing atmosphere.

Reception

The Jack Hort Memorial Community Pool area has a modern building with large glass windows and a sleek design. The entrance features an outward-opening automatic glass door. Directly ahead, a small retail area showcases additional swim gear.  To the right, another outward-opening glass door leads to the pool area.  

The reception window is also on the right, where visitors purchase tickets for entry. Along the same wall, retail displays include swimwear, aquatic items, and an ice cream freezer. 

Visitors may be queuing for entry, browsing items, relaxing in seating areas, or enjoying time by the pool.

Indoor Aquatic Area

The Indoor Aquatic Area has a spacious and well-lit design with large windows and a high ceiling. Directly ahead is a heated lap pool with pool lanes, steps, and handrails. The surrounding non-slip concrete floor has clear depth and safety markings.  To the right is a smaller pool with a depth of 1 metre, also equipped with steps and handrails.  

The changing rooms, located next to the reception window, include multiple bathroom stalls, bench chairs, and hooks for belongings. An accessible bathroom has a toilet, a shower with grab bars, and a shower bench. Visitors are likely swimming, exercising, or relaxing by the poolside in a calm and refreshing atmosphere focused on fitness and leisure.
