Arrival at White's IGA Forest Glen

White's IGA Forest Glen is set within a community shopping village with car parking directly adjacent to the store. A pedestrian crossing connects to other shops in the village and provides step free access from the car park into the store. Two accessible car parking spaces are positioned directly out the front of the store entrance, with an additional car parking space located on the other side of the pedestrian crossing. 

The store is readily identifiable from Grammar School Way, which is just off Mons Road and is surrounded by a residential area as well as the Sunshine Coast Grammar School. Access into the store is via automatic glass sliding doors with shopping trolleys located just outside the entrance to the store.

Moving around White's IGA Forest Glen

White's IGA Forest Glen is a well-designed grocery store with fresh fruit and vegetables the first significant section toward the right as you enter the store, followed by five wide aisles of an extensive range of grocery items.

To the left is the bread and pastry section and to the back of the store are the specialty items. Further to the left is a hot food section where food for lunch or dinner, including coffee can be purchased. 

A significant portion of the internal walls of the grocery store is made up of a continuous refrigeration and freezer unit for dairy, perishable, and frozen goods. Accessible bathrooms are located close to the store.

A brightly lit space with a range of homewares on display to the left including white cushions, home decor and floral arrangements. To the right, separated by a wide walkway is a table and bench with a range of snacks in boxes and trays on display. A popcorn stand is further along to the right situated next to a ‘Lollies’ stand. The walls to the left have black and white patterned tiles with shelves and is located next to a range of chocolates with a sign stating ‘Chocolatier’.
A row of five grocery aisles are to the right featuring a fridge full of dairy products at the far end. Each aisle has a sign at the end listing a number of the products available in that aise. The aisle closest to the front features a range of meat products and there is green, plastic foliage hanging from black wire above the meat fridge. Across from the meat fridge is a range of condiments and other specialty items on display.
To the far end is the dairy fridge where a worker can be seen with stock, situated across from the five grocery aisles. In the centre of this image is the ‘Market Deli’ which is a square shaped area with large black signage above it. Adjacent to this are two sections of wooden shelving that features items such as cake mixes, mueslis and other dry goods. Green plastic foliage is used throughout. Further to the right is a customer with a shopping trolley.

Checking out at White's IGA Forest Glen

There are three check-out lanes with trolley access for larger amounts of grocery items, one of which has extra wide access for wheelchairs. There is also a fast checkout area available for smaller purchases.

At the checkout, service staff scan each product to calculate the total cost of the groceries. Items should be removed from the shopping trolley or bag, and each item is individually scanned before being placed back into the bag or trolley. 

After all items are scanned, the service staff member will ask about the preferred payment method, offering options including credit card and cash. Assistance from the staff is available if necessary. Exiting the store is via the same entrance used to access the store.
