Upper Coomera Aquatic Centre Visual Story
Arrival
Upper Coomera Aquatic Centre is located on Reserve Road in Upper Coomera. The arrival area includes an outdoor carpark situated next to the Upper Coomera Centre. The carpark is spacious and provides accessible car parking spaces for visitors. Established trees around the car park offer natural shade, and the building features a modern architectural design, constructed with glass and metal materials.
Step-free concrete pathways connect the carpark to the main entrance. Pathways are clearly marked, and signage throughout the area assists with wayfinding. Visitors are commonly seen parking, gathering, and entering the centre to take part in various activities. The environment blends natural and urban elements, creating a calm and practical setting.
Entrance and Community Centre
The Upper Coomera Community Centre has a large foyer with high wooden-panelled ceilings and glass windows that allow natural light into the space. The building features a modern design with glass and metal materials. Entry is through step-free, automatic sliding doors. Inside, the area is open with clear signage and seating available.
The aquatic centre is located to the right, through another set of automatic glass sliding doors. On the left is a reception counter and a small shop offering drinks, snacks and swimming accessories. Next to the counter is a family changeroom fitted with a toilet, shower and grab bars. Visitors often attend community events, swim, or seek information. The environment supports community use and movement through the space.
Aquatic Centre
The outdoor community pool area includes a partly covered section with a metal structure that provides shade. Directly ahead is a 25-metre pool heated to 28 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The pool has step-free beach access and a ramp. Further ahead is a splash pad with water features and colourful shade sails. Seating options include bench chairs and sun loungers arranged around the space.
An accessible bathroom with a toilet and shower with grab bars is also nearby. The area is often filled with the sounds of children playing, water splashing and the hum of the filtration system. Visitors are commonly seen swimming, relaxing or using the splash pad.
