Runaway Bay Community Centre Visual Story
Arrival
The Runaway Bay Community Centre is located within the Runaway Bay Sports Precinct East on Morala Avenue, at the corner of Lae Drive, and provides a place for residents to join activities and socialise. A shared carpark is positioned directly in front of the building, with accessible car parking spaces available.
Step-free access and concrete pathways lead from the carpark to the entrance. The community centre is a lowset building with a modern design, bright colours and surrounding greenery.
From the same carpark, the Runaway Bay Library, identified by its bright yellow façade, is also accessible. Clear wayfinding signage and paved pathways support easy navigation. Visitors often arrive to attend events, meetings or gatherings, or simply relax in the nearby park.
Entrance & Foyer
The facility features a modern step-free entrance with an outward-opening glass door, leading into a spacious corridor. The architecture is clean and functional, with smooth concrete floors, low ceilings and bright lighting. On the left, accessible bathrooms are available, equipped with handrails and wide doors. To the right, an inward-opening door leads to a small kitchen equipped with a fridge, coffee-making facilities and an oven.
The main hall directly ahead has polished wooden floors and a stage ideal for events.
The foyer may be filled with people during events, and temporary reception and information desks. People are likely to be preparing and coordinating social events, meetings, or performances hosted in the main hall.
Main Hall
The main hall is located directly ahead of the foyer and features polished wooden floors and a high ceiling with bright lighting. A central stage with timber flooring has stairs on both sides leading to the platform and access at the back. The hall is fitted with modern audio-visual equipment to support performances and events.
Walls are finished in neutral tones, and large fans provide ventilation. The hall is used for concerts, dance competitions and community gatherings, creating a setting where people come together for activities in an energetic and engaging environment.
