Arrival at Nambour Library

The Nambour Library, at the intersection of Currie and Bury Street, is a low-set concrete and glass structure. Accessible car parking spaces are at the front, with additional street parking nearby.  

In the council forecourt area, male, female, and all-gender accessible toilets are available. The accessible toilet includes grab bars, a hand basin, and a baby change station. Tables and chairs offer seating, and a shaded play area is nearby.  

Entry to the library is through an automatic glass sliding door. To the left of the entrance is a self-service book return kiosk.

Foyer

The Nambour Library features wide open spaces with a modern design, using glass and bright lighting to create an inviting atmosphere. The service desk is conveniently located to the right while the returns area is to the left of the entrance.

The layout is spacious, allowing for easy navigation, and there are numerous shelves filled with books. This area features clear signage and open pathways. Visitors are likely to browse books, use computers, or seek assistance at the service desk. The atmosphere is calm and focused, ideal for reading or studying, with a sense of quiet concentration.

Computer Area

The space, located at the far end of the entrance, is well-lit with fluorescent lights, and the walls are adorned with colorful artwork, adding a creative touch. 

Shelves filled with books line one side, while comfortable chairs and tables offer spots for reading or studying. The atmosphere is calm and focused, ideal for quiet study or work. Accessibility is enhanced with wide aisles and easily reachable resources, making it user-friendly for everyone.

Newspaper Area

The newspaper area at Nambour Library is situated to the right of the entrance. This space is designed for quiet reading, featuring large glass windows that allow natural light to fill the room. The seating includes armchairs and small tables, arranged for relaxation. 

The carpeted floor contributes to a cosy feel. Orientation is straightforward, with clear pathways between bookshelves and seating areas.  Visitors often engage in reading, studying, or quiet reflection. The atmosphere remains calm and peaceful, making it ideal for focused activities.

Accessibility is considered with wide aisles and seating options. Visitors are likely to browse books, read quietly, or study. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, encouraging relaxation and focus.

Heritage Library

Access is available via stairs with handrails from the main library or a lift from the Currie Street entrance for those with mobility issues. Visitors are likely studying, browsing historical documents, or using computers. The atmosphere is peaceful, encouraging focus and reflection, with a sense of connection to the past.
