Marangaroo Golf Course Visual Story
Arrival at Marangaroo Golf Course
Marangaroo Golf Course, located on Aylesford Drive, is set amongst native bushland and has 18 holes. The course features design elements such as doglegs and blind tee shots, offering a gentle yet captivating golfing experience. There is a very large car park downhill from the clubhouse which is consistently busy.
Accessing the course from the car park involves ascending one of two ramps that provide step-free entry. A ramp on the right ascends to a golf driving range, and directly ahead there are numerous golf carts lined up.
Further along, the cream brick, 80s style building stands on the left with shaded picnic tables provide a relaxed setting for individuals awaiting their turn to play.
Pro Shop
To access the Pro Shop, navigate around the picnic tables and enter through the outward-opening glass doors, that feature prominent security bars on both doors and windows. The building features a pitched ceiling with exposed timber beams. T-shirts and polo shirts are neatly displayed in the aisle and on the right wall.
On the left, there are golf bags, and in the middle and on the shelves to the right, various brands of golf balls are showcased. The upper right brick wall hosts a golf show exhibit. Directly ahead is the reception counter and on the far left are additional display racks for golf caps and golf bags along with a stand that showcases a variety of golf clubs.
Café
Adjacent to the Pro Shop, is the café featuring two distinct counters: the right for placing orders and the left for picking up orders. The café has a diverse menu, including snacks, hamburgers, sandwiches, cakes, pies, and a selection of cold refreshments, and coffee.
On the verandah, a series of picnic tables with umbrellas provide comfortable seating options under shade. Further to the right, an enclosed yet spacious area with a low ceiling accommodates movable bar stools and tables.
Enter through the manual inward-opening glass doors. Occasionally, visitors can hear public announcements. There are accessible bathrooms located on the right side of the café counter.
Playing Golf
The 18-hole Golf Course, situated in a vast bushland setting, spans 5,616 metres from the back tees and is a habitat for many kangaroos. The expansive green space features a diverse terrain with levelled areas, pathways, and slopes.
There is an elevated position from the Pro Shop, Café, and waiting zone, providing a panoramic view of Tee 1, the driving range, chipping green, and putting green. Golf carts are stationed in this area, serving as a waiting zone for golfers.
The ground surfaces exhibit a sudden transition, ranging from red concrete to a combination of grass and synthetic turf. Towering trees envelop the surroundings, contributing to the naturalistic environment.
