Arrival
Lakeside Leisure Centre, located on Leisure Way in Raymond Terrace, is a blue and white concrete and glass building surrounded by greenery and palm trees. The area includes neighbouring sports fields.
The car park is directly in front of the building, offering five accessible car parking spaces. A step-free concrete pathway leads from the parking area to the entrance. The environment is calm, with nearby road activity providing subtle background noise. Visitors often engage in recreational activities, use the sports fields, or relax within the leisure centre, creating a balanced atmosphere of activity and relaxation.
Entrance & Café
The entrance area features a glass sliding door opening into a spacious lobby with a turnstile barrier entry. On the right is a reception counter with a blue front and low-level countertops.
Past the turnstiles, a small café on the right offers refreshments, snacks, and ice cream. To the left, a small retail area displays swimwear and accessories, with goggles arranged behind the reception counter. Tables and chairs are set up facing the indoor pool.
Visitors often check in, enjoy a snack, or proceed to the pool.
Indoor Pool
The Lakeside Leisure Centre indoor pool is in front of the reception and accessed through an inward-opening glass door. The pool is surrounded by large glass windows allowing natural light to fill the space.
Directly ahead is the heated pool, available year-round. It features a spa seat area and a toddler beach area with fountains and bubble spouts. There is step free access into this pool and aquatic wheelchairs and mobile hoists are also available.
To the left of the pool entrance is an accessible bathroom, equipped with a toilet, shower, grab bars, shower bench, and baby changing station, also accessed via an inward-opening door.
50m Outdoor Pool
The outdoor pool is accessed through an outward-opening glass door beyond the café area. Lush greenery and tall palm trees surround the space. On the right is a seating area, while directly ahead is a small playground with a slide and play structures under a shade canopy. To the left is the 50-metre, 8-lap lane swimming pool, featuring entry via stairs and a ramp with handrails.
Tiered seating under shade structures surrounds the pool area. The surrounding grass and palm trees create a calm and refreshing environment, complemented by fresh rural air.
