Arrival at Fawkner Leisure Centre

Falkner Leisure Centre, located on Jukes Road, is a modern, low-set building with brick, metal, and glass elements. The structure has a curved metallic roof and a brick façade. Adjacent to the building is a car park with five accessible car parking spaces, connected by concrete pathways leading to the entrance. Reception & Café

The entrance has an extended front with a steel canopy leading to two automatic glass sliding doors. Inside, the reception counter is on the left, featuring a white and brown timber façade with sections of varying heights to accommodate all users, including those in wheelchairs.

The reception manages the ticketed entry for the pool and gym areas. The long counter transitions into the café, which offers hot and cold drinks and snacks. The café includes a spacious seating area with various seating options, accessible without a ticket. On the right, a small retail display showcases swimwear and accessories.

Gymnasium

The gymnasium is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with the main access located next to the reception desk. Entry is through an outward-opening glass door. Inside, the flooring transitions from timber near the entrance to rubber tiles in the main workout area. The ceiling features timber slats and a combination of fluorescent and recessed lighting. Large windows provide natural light, creating a bright environment.

The gym includes treadmills, rowing machines, Smith and lat pull-down machines, a bench press, and free weights. An accessible bathroom with grab bars, a shower, a shower bench, an adult change table, and a hoist is located within the gym area and is shared with pool guests.

Program Room & Group Fitness Studio

The Group Fitness Studio, accessed through an automatic glass sliding door, has an elevated platform for instructors and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Large glass windows offer views of the surrounding greenery. Exercise equipment is arranged along the sides, and the room is equipped with fans and a sound system for group sessions.

The exercise room, also accessed via an automatic glass sliding door, provides a quieter space for individual workouts. The timber floor is complemented by floor-to-ceiling mirrors. A central rack holds exercise balls, weights, and a punching bag. These areas accommodate group classes, personal training, or solitary workouts, balancing energy and calmness.

Outdoor Aquatic Area

To access the Outdoor Aquatic Area, proceed straight from the main entrance. The area includes a 50m pool with 8 lanes, shaded by bright, colourful sails. Entry to the pool features a ramp with handrails, stairs with handrails, and a hoist. Aquatic wheelchairs are available for use.

A nearby kids' splash park under yellow shade sails features slides, tipping buckets, fountains, and other water features that add fun and energy to the space.

Male and female change rooms are located at the left of the pool entrance. The environment shifts from tranquil to lively, with views of Melbourne's CBD in the distance. Visitors swim, relax, or enjoy the sun in an atmosphere that balances relaxation and fitness.

Indoor Aquatic Area

The Indoor Aquatic Centre is accessible via an automatic glass sliding door and includes a 25 metre lap pool equipped with stairs with handrails and a learner's pool. The interior features modern architecture with a mix of glass, tiles, and brick.

The environment is warm and humid, typical of pool areas. There are extensive changeroom options, including an ambulant toilet with showers fitted with grab bars and a shower bench. The pool area includes step and ladder entrances for easy access. 

The sauna, steam room, and spa bath are in a separate room accessible via an automatic glass sliding door. The spa has a step with handrails entry.
