1. Arrival and Parking

The Erindale Leisure Centre is located within a larger complex surrounded by sporting fields and residential areas with native trees. It is accessed via an open-air car park featuring five accessible car parking spaces near the entrance. The car park is paved with asphalt and bordered by concrete curbs. 2. Entrance and Reception

The entrance to the leisure centre is accessed from the car park by veering left toward automatic glass sliding doors. The external surface includes patterned concrete with a rubber mat positioned at the entry. Inside, the floor transitions to grey vinyl. The reception desk is located directly ahead, with refrigerated drink displays to the right and retail shelving and freezer units to the left. Walls are painted in light tones, and the ceiling includes exposed services and fluorescent lighting.

To the left of reception, a corridor provides access to squash courts. To the right, a corridor leads toward the gymnasium, sports hall and aquatic centre, with stair access along this route. An accessible bathroom is located along this corridor beneath the second stairwell and includes a toilet with grab rails. Lockers are positioned opposite this bathroom and further along the corridor. This area is used for entry, circulation and access to leisure centre facilities.

3. Aquatic Centre

Access to the aquatic centre is via a corridor to the right of reception, with blue vinyl flooring leading to manually operated outward opening glass doors marked “Swimming Pool.” Inside, the floor transitions to small cream tiles. The main pool hall includes a 25-metre lap pool surrounded by tiled surfaces with drainage grates. The structure has an industrial style with exposed steel beams and sloped windows that allow natural light. Roller doors and glass openings provide ventilation. A toddler pool is located at the far end and includes handrails and tiled step entry.

Male and female change rooms are positioned adjacent to the pool and include open changing areas with bench seating and hooks, along with showers, toilets and hand basins. A baby change table is available. An additional accessible change room includes a toilet with grab rails, a shower with a bench seat and an adult change table. A steam room with glass doors is located between the change rooms. A family change room is positioned near the toddler pool. Seating is available around the pool edge and within the change areas. This area is used for swimming, changing and aquatic activities.

4. Sports Hall

The sports hall is located to the right of reception, accessed along a corridor and through manually operated outward opening doors on the left. The corridor includes blue vinyl flooring that transitions to a multi-coloured sports surface inside the hall. The hall has a large open layout with a high ceiling and exposed structural elements. Walls are constructed from brick and timber panels. Basketball hoops are mounted along the walls, and seating is arranged around the perimeter. A viewing platform on level one overlooks the hall.

The corridor outside the hall includes lockers, a fire hose and a noticeboard, with a first aid room located opposite. Flooring in the corridor includes sections of carpet tiles. This area is used for indoor sports and group activities. Activity levels may be high during scheduled sessions and shared use with nearby facilities. You may hear ball impact, movement across the floor and voices during use.

5. Squash Courts

The squash courts are located to the left of reception and accessed through a manually operated glass door, with the floor surface changing to grey carpet tiles. The area includes five courts with high ceilings. Courts 1 and 2 are positioned to the left after entry and include glass walls for viewing, while Courts 3, 4 and 5 are located to the right and are enclosed. The surrounding corridor has carpet flooring and painted block walls, with a small seating area including chairs and a table.

Inside the courts, walls are finished in white with marked boundary lines, and the floors have a timber surface. Lighting is provided by overhead fixtures. Metal stairs and railings are positioned near the courts and above the glass panels. This area is used for squash activities. You may hear ball impact and movement within the courts. Enclosed conditions may include noticeable smells from equipment use and cleaning products.

6. Gymnasium

The gymnasium is located on level one and can be accessed via the second stairwell to the right of reception or by elevator. At the top of the stairs, the cardiovascular area is positioned ahead and includes equipment such as stationary bicycles and rowing machines arranged on grey carpet flooring. The ceiling is white with fluorescent lighting, and an orange feature wall includes mounted television screens.

Further to the left is the weights area, which includes rubber matting to support equipment use. Walls in this section include mirrors and large glass panels overlooking the aquatic centre. Equipment is arranged in rows with clear pathways between zones. This area is used for individual exercise and fitness activities.

7. Studio 1

Studio 1 is located on level one, accessed by moving past the gymnasium and along a short corridor. The corridor includes carpeted flooring, a sloped ceiling with strip lighting and frosted glass panels with marked doors. Entry to the studio is through a glass door with signage identifying the room. Inside, the space has high ceilings with exposed beams and a tiled ceiling. Walls include timber panelling and painted brick finishes. The floor is timber parquet with marked lines.

A full-length mirror wall is positioned along one side, opposite a raised stage area. Equipment such as chairs, mats and weights are stored along the walls. Wall-mounted fans provide ventilation. 8. Aerobics Room

The aerobics room is located on level one and is accessed via the stairwell or elevator, followed by a corridor with carpeted flooring and metal railings. Inside the room, the floor surface changes from carpet to dark timber. The space is arranged with stationary bicycles positioned in rows, with a central instructor area and a mirrored wall.
