Arrival at Eagle Stadium
Eagle Stadium in Werribee is accessed via Ballan Road and is serviced by nearby bus and train connections. The facility, recognised as the largest indoor recreation space in Melbourne’s West, features a distinctive colour scheme of yellow, white and red on its façade.
There are 14 accessible car parking spaces close to the entrance, with a pedestrian crossing and step-free pathway leading to the doors.
For cyclists, bike racks are positioned to the left of the entrance. The facility is entered through two sets of automatic, glass sliding doors with the flooring transitioning from concrete to a hard surface. This stadium includes twelve indoor courts, four outdoor courts, and a fitness centre.
Entrance to Eagle Stadium
Upon entering Eagle Stadium, visitors are greeted by a spacious environment with high ceilings that allow for ample natural light. Immediately to the left is the reception area, which includes a selection of sports apparel, rackets, and balls available for purchase. Straight ahead, the turnstiles regulate entry, requiring a pass for access. To the right, is the café entrance.
After passing through the turnstiles, visitors have access to the bathrooms located in the vicinity, including a separate male, female, and a unisex accessible bathroom equipped with a baby change station.
The building is designed with noise insulation and thermal regulation, incorporating various sustainable features.
Courts 1-4 at Eagle Stadium
After the turnstiles, courts 1 and 2 are to the right, adjacent to the outdoor netball courts and there is also access to the café and an accessible bathroom. To the left of the corridor are courts 1 and 2, equipped with reverse cycle climate control and spectator seating. These courts feature polished timber floors, and fluorescent lighting.
Moving straight ahead from the turnstiles leads to another corridor to courts 3 and 4. This area has water refilling stations, lockers, and a first aid room. Further along, to the right are the accessible bathroom fitted with a shower, hoist, and handrails. At the end of the corridor, to the right, are courts 3 and 4 which feature evaporative cooling and bench-style seating.
Café at Eagle Stadium
Within Eagle Stadium, after passing through the turnstiles, visitors heading right down the corridor will find an entrance to the café. This space offers both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements with moveable tables and chairs for convenience.
In alignment with WynActive's commitment to health, the café features a colour-coded system for food and beverage options, employing 'traffic light' indicators for dietary guidance.
Patrons can choose from a variety of hot and cold beverages, ice creams, and a selection of food items. The café also provides a visual connection to the outside, offering views of the netball courts and the adjacent gardens.
Outdoor Netball Courts at Eagle Stadium
Upon entering Eagle Stadium and proceeding through the turnstiles, visitors who turn right and follow the corridor will come across an entryway to the right, which opens to four LED-lit outdoor netball courts, situated beyond the café entrance.
The entrance to the courts is laid with concrete tiles, leading to the courts which are marked with numbers and feature a bright blue, soft floor surface for play. Adjacent to the café, shaded seating areas are available for those wishing to enjoy refreshments outdoors. The courts are set within a landscaped environment where gardens and trees provide a pleasant surrounding area.
Courts 5-12
Navigating through the turnstiles at Eagle Stadium, a left turn leads down a corridor to courts 5 to 8. On this passage, the reception is on the left, and to the right are courts 5 through 8, catering to various ball sports like pickleball, netball, and basketball, all set on polished timber floors with overhead black beams and fluorescent lighting.
Bench-style seating borders these courts. In close proximity, visitors will find the crèche, an accessible unisex bathroom, and the entrance to the gym. Staff and management offices are also situated in this vicinity. For access to courts 9 to 12, head straight from the turnstiles to the corridor's end, where there is an outdoor seating area enveloped by garden views.
Gymnasium and Health Club at Eagle Stadium
The entrance to the gymnasium and health club is via automatic glass sliding doors. Upon entering, to the left is the cycle studio with its row of orange cycles. Further along, members tap their gym pass for entry through turnstiles. Beyond this point, to the left, is the entrance to the cycle studio.
Straight ahead is the group fitness studio with polished timber floors, surrounded by a variety of exercise equipment. To the right, the gym area has an array of weight machines and free weights, with storage lockers and water fountains.
A small reception area outside the gym has staff on hand for assistance. Near the turnstiles is a unisex accessible toilet and shower, in addition to male and female facilities.
Crèche at Eagle Stadium
The crèche at Eagle Stadium is positioned across from court 8, next to the gymnasium and health club, catering for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. Access to the crèche is via manual glass doors that open inward. Once inside, entry to the main area requires passing through a black gate on the right.
The entrance area displays various informational signs and notices. Inside, the crèche offers a large, bright environment furnished with child-sized tables and chairs. Child-friendly bathroom facilities are integrated within the space.
Additionally, children have access to a dedicated outdoor play area designed to encourage active engagement with the outdoors.
