Coolum Aquatic Centre Visual Story
Carpark & Entrance
Coolum Aquatic Centre, located on David Low Way, includes a low-set building with a corrugated roof and white concrete façade. The venue has a drive-in, drive-out carpark with accessible car parking spaces and a loading zone for convenient drop-offs. From the carpark, a step-free concrete ramp leads to the entrance.
Visitors can choose between a ramp or stairs, each fitted with handrails, for safe access to the building. Entry is through a manual inward-opening glass door.
Reception
Upon entering through the inward-opening glass door, a mannequin dressed in swimwear is on the right, with the reception window nearby displaying additional swimwear and accessories. A manual push metal gate allows access beyond the reception.
To the left is a retail display area with assorted swim gear, while to the right is a rack of goggles. Overhead lighting brightens the space, and the concrete floor provides a clean, practical environment for visitors.
Café
Upon entering through the metal gate, the Café is positioned on the right, featuring a blue brick counter that holds a coffee machine, computer monitor, ice cream fridge, and a selection of snacks and drinks.
Seating is plentiful, with options under a covered area and on artificial grass overlooking the pool. Visitors can relax and enjoy refreshments while taking in views of the pool.
Adjacent to the Café are accessible toilets, fitted with grab bars, a shower bench, and a baby changing station. The setting is relaxed and inviting, offering a comfortable spot for refreshments.
25m Lane Pool
The 25m Pool is an 8-lane outdoor pool, kept between 26-28 degrees Celsius. The water depth varies from 0.9m to 2m, with steps and an access ramp with handrails.
Ample seating is available around the pool on the concrete deck, offering an open-air setting with trees along the border as a natural backdrop. Overhead lights illuminate the pool area for evening use.
To reach the 25m Pool from the entrance, turn right and pass the Splash Pool and Café on the left.
Learn to Swim Pool
The Learn to Swim Pool is a 12x6m hydro pool maintained at 30-32 degrees Celsius, ideal for swim lessons. Enclosed within a single-storey structure of glass and metal, the pool area provides clear views of the surroundings. Steps lead to a ledge in the pool, and a pool hoist is available to use for easier access.
To reach this pool from the entrance, turn left, passing the Splash Park on the right, then turn right and follow the concrete pathways that cut through the grass.
Splash Park
The Kid's Splash Park has colourful water fountains and play structures set on a non-slip surface. To the left is a covered seating area, providing shaded spots for supervision. The open-air splash zone sits next to a shallow pool, surrounded by greenery and palm trees, creating a playful and inviting setting perfect for children. Accessible directly from the entrance, this area offers a lively space for fun and relaxation.
Swim Club
The Coolum Peregian Swim Club is a single-storey facility with a concrete structure and large windows. A wide entrance with an inward-opening door leads into an open space with tables and training equipment positioned on both sides.
The floor has a speckled concrete finish, and fluorescent lighting is fitted on the ceiling. To reach the facility from the entrance, turn right and follow the concrete pathway, passing the Splash Park and the 25m Pool on the left.
