Arrival at Civic Reserve Recreation Centre

The Civic Reserve Recreation Centre is nestled among numerous outdoor sporting facilities, offering a sense of expansive outdoors and nature. The facility features an industrial design with light blue walls and grey roofing accents. Four accessible car parking spaces are conveniently located near the front entrance, with large, well-established trees providing significant shade.

Step-free access and concrete pathways lead from the car park to the automatic glass sliding door entrance. Bicycle racks are available at the side of the building. Wild grass and small trees dominate the front landscape, enhancing the natural setting.

Entrance to Civic Reserve Recreation Centre

Upon entering Civic Reserve Recreation Centre, the reception counter is positioned directly ahead with the adjoined cafeteria area beyond and to the left. Above the cafe seating area, a large skylight dominates the features by allowing abundant natural light to filter in.

This area may seem noisy at times due to the coffee machine, people talking and laughing, as well as an echo of people moving throughout. There are signages clearly indicating the location of tennis, table tennis, and gymnasium.

The first section inside the Civic Reserve Recreation Centre is a black and walnut counter of the café and seating area occupied by adults enjoying themselves while chatting. Lighting the seating area is a skylight allowing natural light to filter in addition to fluorescent strips that surround this rectangular skylight. There is black signage indicating the location of the Stadium, Toilets, Tennis, and Gymnasium.

Gymnasium at Civic Reserve Recreation Centre

The boutique-size gymnasium is located toward the left away from the reception area. The gymnasium has a selection of equipment including treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, cable machines, squat and bench stations as well as free weights. This area can become loud when busy due to the sounds of the equipment being used, and the noise and chatter from the attendees.

Bathrooms at Civic Reserve Recreation Centre

Civic Reserve Recreation Centre is equipped with two accessible change rooms which include showers, benches & toilets with hand grabs. These accessible bathrooms are located near the Changing Rooms in close proximity to the Yoga Studio and Gymnasium.

Stadium at Civic Reserve Recreation Centre

Situated furthest to the left from reception, past the gymnasium and accessible via a small ramp with handrails, is the stadium area. This expansive open space features a very high ceiling, which can amplify the sounds of balls bouncing, whistles blowing, and people cheering during sporting events, creating a lively atmosphere.

The highly polished timber floors are marked for various ball games, and the bright lights can produce glare and reflections. Additionally, a tiered grandstand provides seating for spectators to comfortably watch the games.

Yoga Studio at Civic Reserve Recreation Centre

Access to the Yoga Studio is located to the right, down a corridor from the reception. The manual, outward-opening doors reveal a spacious yoga area with a brown timber floor. The lighting is kept dim, complemented by some natural light filtering through the windows.

A colorful assortment of yoga balls and mats is neatly stored against one wall. The walls and ceiling are white, with recessed lighting, a ceiling fan, and air conditioning ensuring a comfortable and serene environment.
