Carramar Golf Course Visual Story
Arrival at Carramar Golf Course
Carramar Golf Course, located in the heart of Carramar on Golf Links Drive, is situated on an expansive native bushland. Its picturesque 18-hole course is surrounded by gum trees and features a 150m-wide all-grass driving range. From the car park, there is step-free access to the concrete-brick pathway bordered by gum trees which leads to the clubhouse.
The all-grass driving range is on the right and continuing, the clubhouse is on the left. The '80s-style low-set red brick building sits naturally on flat ground with subtle undulating terrain. Golf carts are parked on the right of the veranda and bench chairs are available for seating, perfect for golfers in queue as they wait for their turn to play.
Pro Shop
Entering the Pro Shop is through manually inward opening glass doors which has a non-slip mat with the golf course's name at the entrance. The retail space has a pitched ceiling adorned with exposed white metal beams. Straight ahead, golf bags and golf push carts are displayed.
Moving towards the reception counter, golf clubs, t-shirts, and additional bags are displayed on the right, while golf balls are neatly arranged on racks to the left. The retail area offers a vibrant atmosphere with contrasting colours.
A change in the floor texture is prominent, from the concrete brick outside to the carpet inside. Additionally, more retail items are displayed outside the entrance.
Café
The café offers two main access points—either directly to the right from reception or externally past the Pro Shop, turning left in front of the northern side of the facility. The veranda outside is lined with picnic tables & umbrellas, providing additional shaded seating.
Two counters with roller doors showcase snacks, light meals, hot beverages, and alcoholic drinks at the café counter. On the right, cane-style couches are complemented by easily movable Café furniture.
The ceiling is low-level with fluorescent lighting glass walls enclosing the space. Male and female toilets & an accessible bathroom is situated beyond the café counter on the left.
18 Hole Golf Course
Carramar Golf Course, a 72 par, 6121-metre course, is known for its challenging play amidst Australian bushland. The course's difficulty comes from its native setting, offering glimpses of wildflowers and kangaroos.
The toughest hole, the 423-metre par 4 'Heartbreak Hill', requires a 250-metre tee shot off an elevated tee to navigate successfully. Greens are protected by hollows and bunkers, with tee options ranging from challenging to formidable.
Facilities include a large driving range and putting green, both near the first tee. The course is characterized by its flat terrain, the distinctive blue-painted tree near the first tee and ninth green, and a tranquil, naturalist setting among gum trees and lush greens.
