All Access Day at Dicky Beach Visual Story
Arrival
Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club is on Coochin Street, with parking spaces in front of the entrance and clearly marked accessible bays. Paved concrete pathways and sand lead to the beach activities area and nearby stalls.
On 15 November 2025, the All Access Day will run from 10 am to 1 pm, featuring activities for all abilities such as face painting, kite flying, seated volleyball, sandcastle building, and Dicky Beach Got Talent.
Various stalls will be open throughout the event. In the morning, people will arrive, park, and walk towards the clubhouse or picnic areas as groups begin to form and the event gets underway.
Beach Activities
The beach activities area features a paved path that leads to the sandy shore, accompanied by clear signage indicating accessibility. Trees line the path, offering shade, and a blue beach mat extends onto the sand for easier wheelchair access.
Families and friends gather to join activities such as sandcastle building, kite flying, and swimming between the flags, which run from 10 am to 11 am. The area is designed to be inclusive, with accessible pathways and facilities.
The open space is filled with the sound of waves and a gentle sea breeze. People are jparticipating in the activities, swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
Activities & Stalls
The activities area is set on a grassed space near the beach, with several tents and stalls arranged for visitors. A sensory area, a BBQ and a stage are also located within this area. The Surf Life Saving Club hosts the seated volleyball event nearby.
A concrete path winds through the site, allowing access for wheelchairs and strollers. The environment is vibrant, with people gathering under tents, browsing stalls, and socialising.
Families and friends enjoy the sunny day, while others head towards the beach, creating a cheerful and communal atmosphere.
Beach Wheelchair
The Mobi-Chair Beach Wheelchair and beach access matting are available for community use at Dicky Beach. The wheelchair is suitable for both adults and children.
During the All Access Day event, the beach wheelchair is readily available. Users are required to fill out the booking form. Please approach the beach patrol on duty or a volunteer for assistance.
How To Use The Beach Wheelchair
The Mobi-Chair beach wheelchair is stored in a small shed behind the clubhouse, marked as a First Aid Room with outward-opening metal doors and reached by a smooth concrete path. Guests first report to the Patrol Captain, who arranges a volunteer to guide them to the shed.
The wheelchair supports up to 130kg, has three seat positions, a seatbelt, and must be used with the supplied lifejacket. Carers assess their ability to push, seek help if the user is over 60kg, and must stay within the red and yellow flags in safe conditions. After use, wash at the showers, return the wheelchair and lifejackets to the shed, and notify volunteers of their return.
