Arrival
Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club is on Coochin Street, with parking directly in front of the entrance and accessible spaces clearly marked. Paved concrete pathways and sand leads to the beach activities area and stalls.
On 15 November 2025, the All Access Day will run from 10am to 1pm. During this time, people will be arriving, parking, and walking towards the clubhouse or nearby picnic areas. The atmosphere will be calm in the morning, with groups gradually forming as the event begins.
Beach Activities
The beach area features a paved path leading to the sandy shore, with clear signage indicating accessibility. The path is lined with trees providing shade, and a blue beach mat extends onto the sand, ensuring easier access for wheelchairs. The environment is open and sunny, with the sound of waves and a gentle sea breeze.
People are enjoying beach activities like swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The atmosphere is relaxed and joyful, with families and friends gathering. The area is designed to be inclusive, with accessible pathways and facilities.
Activities & Stalls
The activities are on a grassed area, a lively outdoor space located close to the beach, featuring several tents and stalls. The surrounding area includes a modern building with large windows and a concrete path that winds through the area, making it accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
The environment is vibrant and bustling, with people gathering under tents for this event. The atmosphere is cheerful and social, with families and friends enjoying the sunny day. Visitors are likely to be browsing stalls, socialising, or heading towards the beach, creating a sense of excitement and community.
Beach Wheelchair
The beach wheelchair is stored in a small shed located behind the clubhouse. A smooth, accessible path leads to the shed, making it convenient for wheelchairs and strollers. The shed, marked as a First Aid Room, has a simple design with outward-opening metal doors.
On arrival, guests report to the beach patrol officer, who arranges for a volunteer to guide them to the shed, ensuring access to the wheelchair as needed.
How To Use The Beach Wheelchair
The Mobi-Chair beach wheelchair is stored in a small shed behind the clubhouse, marked as a First Aid Room with outward-opening metal doors and reached by a smooth concrete path. Guests first report to the Patrol Captain, who arranges a volunteer to guide them to the shed.
The wheelchair supports up to 130kg, has three seat positions, a seatbelt, and must be used with the supplied lifejacket. Carers assess their ability to push, seek help if the user is over 60kg, and must stay within the red and yellow flags in safe conditions. After use, wash at the showers, return the wheelchair and lifejackets to the shed, and notify volunteers of their return.
