1. Arrival and Parking

The arrival area at Bluey and Jean Piva Park features a modern amenities block constructed with concrete and timber elements. 2. Accessible Amenities Block

The amenities block is constructed with masonry brick and features high ceilings. The ground surfaces are smooth concrete, providing step-free access throughout. The structure includes multiple showers and toilets, with dedicated accessible facilities.

There is a Changing Places facility which includes a height-adjustable adult change table, a ceiling hoist, a peninsular toilet, a privacy screen and a shower. Pathways are wide, allowing easy movement. The building is located next to the beach, with subtle lighting enhancing visibility.

3. Accessible Beach Wheelchairs

The area features three roller doors made of metal, set into a brick wall. Public access to these doors is controlled by a unique pin code, which can be acquired by booking any one of the three beach accessibility devices. Inside, there are dedicated spaces for storing beach wheelchairs and wheelie walkers. Each device has its own storage area. There are two beach wheelchairs (Mobi-Chair and Sandcruiser) and a beach wheely walker available for free hire.

The ground surface is concrete, providing a smooth, step-free path. The space is partially shaded by an overhead structure. This area is used for storing beach accessibility devices, which can be booked online. Activity levels may vary depending on the time of day and usage needs. You may hear the sound of the roller doors opening and closing. The area is likely to be quiet when not in use.

4. Beach Access and Matting

The beach access area features a concrete pathway leading to a permanent beach mat which sits between the dunes and does not extend to the water’s edge. This makes the beach easier to access and provides a viewing point on the beach, while protecting the mats from damage by high tides and sand accumulation. This area is bordered by grass and low fencing. 

A shower is located near the entrance, and a barbecue area is situated on the grass above, offering views of the beach. The area includes steps leading down to the beach. The pathway connects to surrounding areas, ensuring smooth transitions.

5. Barbeque and Picnic Areas
