Arrival at Tomaree Aquatic Centre

Tomaree Aquatic Centre is in Aquatic Close, Salamander Bay. The building is low-set, constructed with brick, and features bright blue doors with yellow accents. The roof has solar panels.  

In front of the building is a large, flat bitumen car park with two accessible car parking spaces. A step-free concrete ramp connects the car park to the entrance.  

The surrounding area is bordered by native bushland with gum and eucalypt trees. Parrots and galahs are often present, adding to the natural environment.

Reception & Café

The entrance to the facility has brick and blue-painted walls with clear signage and information boards. Entry is through a low metal and glass barrier gate. 

To the right is the reception window, featuring a wooden façade with motivational stickers. Adjacent to the reception is the café, which serves hot and cold drinks, snacks, and ice cream. Tables and chairs are placed in front of the café.  

On the left is a retail area displaying goggles, swimwear, and swim accessories.  Further to the left are male, female, and accessible family change rooms equipped with toilets, showers, grab bars, and a baby changing station.

Outdoor Aquatic Centre

Following the concrete path from the entrance leads to the outdoor aquatic area. To the right is the shaded 15-metre heated swimming pool and adjoining it is the Kids Pool.  The area is surrounded by bench chairs and covered by a shade cloth.  

To the left is the 50-metre heated pool with eight lanes, equipped with a step and ramp with handrails entry. The area features concrete pathways and grassy sections with palm trees, with sails providing shade over the pools.

Water Slide

The waterslide is a large blue spiral slide set within a vibrant water park, ending in a shallow pool surrounded by a secure fence.  

To access the waterslide, turn left from the entrance. Users can climb stairs with handrails to reach the starting point of the slide. Safety directional instructions are displayed to guide users on proper usage and safety guidelines.  

The area includes benches and shaded sections for relaxation. The environment is lively, with the sound of water splashing and visitors enjoying the slide. The waterslide operates during the Christmas school holidays.
