The FARM Centre Visual Story
Arrival at The FARM Centre
The FARM is an industrial-style warehouse with an alternating blue tone colour scheme in the flat sporting precinct of Hanston Street, Freeling and is situated among well-established pine trees. Noteworthy are the adjacent Football club and cricket nets, each operating independently from The FARM Centre.
There are three accessible car parking spaces available in the car park which are directly adjacent to the building. Following the car park, a step-free pathway leads to the entrance. Access to The FARM Centre is via manual, outward-opening doors and houses a 24/7 gymnasium accessible via a swipe card, situated to the left of the main entrance.
Entrance & Café
Upon entering through the main entrance doors, visitors are welcomed into a well-lit space with a low-level ceiling, illuminated by fluorescent spotlighting. To the left, floor-to-ceiling glass windows display marketing materials for The FARM Centre. Progressing further to the left leads to the reception desk, and a café with a view of the stadium.
Movable chairs and tables provide seating for visitors to enjoy a snack. The café sells a range of snacks, ice creams, coffee and drinks. Moving ahead from reception are the change rooms including an ambulant male and female bathrooms. The accessible bathrooms & showers are also accessible from the gymnasium.
Gymnasium
For gymnasium access, veer left from the entrance before reaching the reception desk. Proceed through a manually operated glass door, to a large white room, with fluorescent lighting and a floor of rubber matting. There is also 24/7 access externally to the gymnasium by the use of a swipe card. Directly ahead is an array of cardio equipment including treadmills and rowers as well as resistance machines.
Further to the right is the free weights section with an arrangement of weights. Accessible bathrooms including showers, are located to the right of the entrance near the free weights section. Large flat-screen TVs are positioned on the walls surrounding the gymnasium. A chilled water fountain is also available.
Sports Stadium
Access to the sports stadium is via a manual, outward-opening glass door directly from the reception and café area. The sports stadium is a large and open space, the size of two basketball courts which is used for trade shows as well as for games such as basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and indoor tennis.
The ceiling has exposed beams, reflective silver insulation, and a mixture of natural skylights and spotlights. A huge black, meshed curtain serves as a separator between the two courts. The floor unfolds a contrast contrast, with a red external perimeter blending into vibrant blue playing zones, marked by multiple coloured lines symbolizing the various sports that can be played within the sports stadium.
