Sunshine Coast Lightning Visual Story
Parking & Arrival
Sunshine Coast Lightning is situated on Olympic Way, Sippy Downs, in a modern, multi-story building composed of glass, concrete, and metal. The arena accommodates various local sports at all competition levels, including basketball, futsal, netball, badminton, and volleyball. The facility is fully air-conditioned and has seating for over 3,000 spectators.
There are 11 accessible car parking spaces specifically marked in carparks, located directly across the entrance. Holders of disability parking permits can park in these designated spots without a fee. Regular parking is available a short distance from the building's entrance, along concrete pathways that lead to the spacious entrance area via a step-free ramp.
Ticketing & Stadium Entry
The entrance to UniSC Arena features step-free access and steps equipped with handrails. An accessible pathway leads from the parking area to a lift and stairs, also with handrails.
The access point opens outwards to the Eastern Stand. Accessible seating and an accessible toilet with grab rails and a hand basin are available.
Additionally, a sensory room is located on the eastern stand side of the venue and can be accessed from the front gates. Visitors who want to use the sensory room are advised to secure seating in the Eastern Stand for easier access.
Stadium & Game Experiences
Upon entering UniSC Arena from the Eastern entrance, wheelchair, and accessible seating is directly ahead. A staircase with handrails ascends to the upper seating area (rows I-EV) while another staircase descends to the lower seating platform (rows EH-EA).
The seating features bright colours, including yellow, white, sky blue, and navy blue. Additional seating surrounds the court. A large sign reading "UniSC" alongside the logo is affixed to the upper walls. The arena has polished timber floors marked for various ball games and white ceilings equipped with light fixtures.
