Arrival - Ramp Entry
Success Library is part of the Cockburn Health & Community Facility on Wentworth Parade. The large building is modern with glass and metal features, surrounded by gardens and leafy trees. There are several parking options, including an accessible space near the entrance, reached via steps or a gently sloped ramp with handrails.
This entry area is open and welcoming, with seating and shaded spots. You may see people arriving, leaving, or relaxing outdoors. Visitors come for the library, health services, or to enjoy the peaceful setting. The area feels calm and community-focused, supporting both wellness and daily activity.
Arrival - Underground Carpark
The underground carpark is a modern, multi-level space with a sleek metal exterior and colourful panels. Inside, it’s well-lit with fluorescent lights and has smooth concrete floors. Accessible car parking spaces are clearly marked.
A central elevator access within the underground carpark is the focal point for all arriving and departing visitors. From the carpark, an automatic glass sliding doors provides access to the elevators. Visitors on wheelchairs or mobility issues can use the two functional lifts to access the upper levels.
Note: There is a lift that is out of order in the western area of the carpark, visitors are advised to use the two functional lifts until further notice.
Arrival - North Entrance
The north entrance leads into the Cockburn Health & Community Building. Nearby a small car parking area includes one accessible space and limited standard bays close to the entry. Visitors can use stairs with handrails or an external mobility lift. Entry is through two sets of automatic glass sliding doors.
This car parking space is often used by people in a hurry or wanting to avoid the larger underground carparking areas. People may be observed arriving or leaving, often with hurried purpose to and from their cars.
Entrance & Central Walkway
The indoor atrium of the Cockburn Health & Community Facility is modern and spacious, with high ceilings, glass walls, wooden panels, and polished tiles. It connects the library, café, health services, and government offices into one easy-to-navigate space.
Elevators, tactile paving, and accessible bathrooms with handrails support inclusive access. People move through the area on their way to the library, appointments or the café. The atmosphere feels calm and welcoming, with both quiet and lively spots.
Library Reception & Book Return
The library entrance is wide, clearly signed, and features an automatic glass sliding door. Inside, the space opens into seating areas and computer stations. The reception desk is to the right, with a lower section for seated access. Book returns and self-service kiosks are on either side.
The floor is carpeted and lighting is soft. Visitors may be reading, studying, using computers or borrowing books. The setting is quiet and focused, designed to support learning and concentration.
Children's Area
The children’s area has a modern, open layout with large glass windows that let in plenty of natural light. It features colourful accents, low bookshelves in alphabetic order, and varied seating including benches, unique chairs, and reading nooks.
Wide aisles and clear signage make the space easy to navigate. Children may be reading, exploring, or joining group activities. The environment is calm and welcoming, designed to support learning and imagination.
Adult's Area
The Adults' Area is a modern, open space with large windows that let in natural light. It features high book shelving that forms rows and corridors lined with books, magazines, along with reading nooks, computer stations, and seating for solo or group study.
Glass rooms are available for meetings or quiet use.
Visitors may be reading, studying, or using computers. The area feels calm and focused, with clear signage and flexible seating to support both independent and shared activities.
Silent Study Space
The Silent Study Space is an enclosed room with large windows that fill the area with natural light, within the Adult Area. It features clean architectural lines, vinyl and smooth flooring, and calming beach imagery on the walls. Entry is via an automatic glass sliding door.
This area is designed for quiet focus, with tables and chairs set up for individual or small group work. Visitors may be reading, studying, or using laptops in a peaceful, distraction-free setting.
Outdoor Verandah
The outdoor verandah is accessed through an outward-opening glass door from the Adults' Area. It features glass panels, metal framing, and colourful tables and chairs. Wide pathways and varied seating suit different needs.
The space overlooks a nearby park and is surrounded by greenery. Visitors may be relaxing, eating, or chatting. Moving from indoors to outdoors brings a gentle change in air temperature and sound, with natural light and fresh air creating a calm, open feel.
Upstairs Community Rooms & Conference Room
Above the main library are bookable Community and Conference Rooms. Community Rooms 1 and 2 can be joined or divided with temporary walls and include access to a small kitchen. Entry is through outward-opening glass doors requiring a swipe pass. The rooms are reached via elevator or stairs from the main atrium space.
The Conference Room has an open-plan layout and carpeted floor. Furniture can be arranged to suit meetings, workshops, or social events. Clear signage helps with navigation. The space is calm, organised, and built for community use.
