Arrival at Robinvale Recreation And Aquatic Centre
The Robinvale Recreation & Aquatic Centre, situated on Latje Road, is nestled in a rural landscape, enveloped by mature gum trees that offer shade and create a natural ambiance. The low-set building features a modern design, with concrete and glass elements painted in blue and yellow and a triangular shape portico.
The front parking area is spacious, with designated accessible car parking spaces. A smooth, step-free concrete pathway leads from the parking area to the entrance. The facility includes a 24/7 gym with its own entrance.
Visitors are likely to participate in fitness activities while enjoying the peaceful environment, enhanced by the surrounding greenery and a sense of community.
Entrance & Reception
The entrance to the recreation centre has double automatic glass sliding doors leading to a spacious lobby with speckled grey and brown tiled flooring. To the right is a curved reception desk with blue and yellow trims.
To the left, a lobby leads to the stadium and gym. To the right of the reception desk, a small retail area displays swimwear and accessories. Further to the right is the entrance to the pool.
Visitors are likely to check in at the reception, inquire about services, browse the retail area, or proceed to the gym or pool. The layout allows for easy navigation and access.
Aquatic Centre
Upon entering through the automatic glass door, the solar-heated 33-metre lap pool is directly ahead, featuring stairs with handrails for entry. Adjacent to it is the intermediate pool, separated by a metal railing divider and covered with a shade cloth.
To the right, a paved pathway leads to the splash park, which has a vibrant non-slip surface with colourful hoops, tipping buckets, and various water features.
Picnic tables are placed under the trees, offering a shaded area for relaxation. To the left of the entrance are the amenities, including an accessible bathroom with grab bars, a shower, and a shower bench. The bathroom is spacious, allowing easy movement for wheelchair users.
Stadium
To access the stadium, turn left from the reception area and go through an outward opening glass door. Inside, the space has varnished floorboards with markings for various ball games. The ceiling is high with exposed beams and insulation foam.
Large windows allow natural light to fill the area, creating a bright atmosphere. Small tiered seating is on both sides for spectators.
Male, female, and accessible toilets with grab bars are located along the lobby to the left of the reception, with nearby restrooms clearly marked. The space is designed for sports activities like basketball and volleyball, fostering an energetic and lively environment.
Gymnasium
To access the gym, turn left from the entrance, follow the lobby, and turn left at the end. The entrance is through an outward-opening glass door. Inside, the space is carpeted, modern, and spacious, with large glass windows allowing natural light to enter.
The gym is equipped with various cardio and strength machines, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and air bikes. Nearby are strength training machines like the bench press, lat pulldown, Smith machine, and chest press machines. The free weights area is arranged at the far end.
The walls display motivational messages, creating a focused and energetic atmosphere, and supporting a sense of determination among users.
