Arrival at Noosa Aquatic Centre
The Noosa Aquatic Centre, located in Girraween Court, is a low-set building made of concrete and metal. The area is surrounded by greenery, creating a calming atmosphere. Parking is available directly in front, with three accessible car parking spaces adjacent to the entrance.
A paved concrete pathway leads from the car park to the entrance, which is accessible via automatic inward-opening glass doors. Visitors are likely arriving for swimming activities, lessons, or fitness classes, contributing to an energetic and lively atmosphere.
Entrance & Reception
Upon entering through the automatic inward opening glass doors, the reception desk with a wooden front is directly ahead. To the right is a retail shop displaying swimwear, goggles, and accessories arranged on shelves and racks. Visitors are likely to shop for swim gear or gather information at the desk. The area feels lively and active as guests prepare for aquatic activities.
Café
The Poolside Café is located to the left of the reception desk. The café counter displays baked goods, snacks, ice cream, and hot and cold beverages. Tables and chairs are arranged to the right, offering views of the pool. An accessible bathroom is to the left of the retail area, accessible via an outward-opening door. The bathroom has a shower, a toilet with grab bars, and a shower bench.
Gymnasium
To access the gym from the reception area, turn left and pass the café. The entrance is through an inward-opening glass door. Inside, the gym has timber flooring with a black rubber mat in the center and floor-to-ceiling mirrors lining the walls.
On the left are strength training machines and free weights, while on the right is a storage rack for belongings. Adjacent to the storage rack is a set of 3-tier textured metal steps with handrails that lead up to the cardio room. The room is equipped with various cardio machines and exercise balls.
Visitors can engage in a range of exercises, from weightlifting to cardio, all within a motivating and well-organised environment.
Crèche
The Crèche is located to the right of the pool area, accessible through an outward-opening glass door. The exterior has a modern design with a digital clock and clear signage. Inside, the space is bright and open, with high ceilings and large windows allowing natural light to flood the area. Colourful artwork decorates the walls, and toys and activities are neatly arranged in cubbies.
The wooden flooring provides a safe and warm environment for children aged 6 months to 10 years. The atmosphere is lively and cheerful, with children engaged in play, crafts, and learning activities. Operating hours are 8:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday to Friday, with bookings recommended.
Learn to Swim Pool
The Learn to Swim Pool is directly ahead of the entrance. The pool area is shaded, featuring a beach entry, and a ramp and stairs with handrails for easy access. The leisure pool includes a toddler pool, wading pool, and bubble pool, all heated to 30–32 degrees.
Colourful water features such as tipping buckets and spray jets add a playful element. The design incorporates shaded structures with concrete and glass elements. Visitors may participate in swimming lessons, relax in the warm water, or enjoy the interactive water features.
Main Pool
The main pool area is adjacent to the leisure pool. It is an outdoor 50 metre pool with 10 lanes, accommodating long and short-course swimming. The pool, heated to 26–28 degrees, also features an official water polo field.
Shaded structures with seating are positioned around the pool, providing rest areas for swimmers and spectators. Access to the pool is via stairs or a ramp with handrails. A pool hoist and an aquatic wheelchair are also available to use anytime.
The surroundings are active and lively, with people swimming, training, or relaxing. The atmosphere promotes fitness and a sense of community.
25m Pool
The 25-metre pool area features a heated pool with eight lanes, surrounded by greenery. Shaded seating with white chairs under canopies is located around the pool, providing a space for spectators. The pool is in a slightly lower area, accessible via a concrete ramp from the leisure pool.
The deck is smooth concrete for easy movement, and the pool includes stairs with handrails. Visitors are likely swimming, training, or relaxing by the poolside. The atmosphere is active and communal, with a focus on fitness and enjoyment.
BBQ Area
The BBQ area is an outdoor space located to the left of the reception, accessible via a concrete ramp with handrails. It features a covered metal structure providing shade. The area includes round tables with chairs arranged on a concrete surface and two stainless steel BBQ stations.
Visitors are likely cooking, sharing meals, and enjoying conversations. The setting is calm and ideal for social gatherings or family picnics, with a refreshing atmosphere complemented by the sound of rustling leaves.
Wellness Studio
The Wellness Studio at Noosa Aquatic Centre features a bright blue concrete exterior surrounded by lush greenery. The studio is located at the back of the barbeque area, accessible by turning left from the entrance, passing by the Program Pool on the right and the seating area on the left. A narrow entryway with steps leads inside.
The interior has dark timber floors, a white sloping roof, and walls. Large windows provide views of the greenery outside and a sliding glass door opens to a shaded verandah with metal railings.
Visitors are likely to participate in meditation, yoga, or light exercise, enjoying the serene setting.
