Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat Visual Story
Arrival and Reception at Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat
Accessing Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat via Narrows Road leads to a winding road arriving at the retreat. On the right are visitor parking spaces, and to the left is the reception, with the road continuing ahead to more guest parking and cabins. From the car park, a bitumen path leads to reception, accessible via a small ramp and two steps up to a brown brick building.
The reception entrance features an inward-opening glass door. Inside, there is a wall displaying wines near the reception desk. To the right of the entrance are chairs, DVDs for rent, tourism info, retail items, and games for borrowing, alongside awards and information signage.
The Rainforest Deck
From the reception at Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat, moving left past the guest carports on the right, visitors will find a short pathway leading to a small brown structure with a green roof. To access this building, there's a timber ramp with a gentle incline. At the top of the ramp, turning left reveals a large open space.
The area features brown timber plank flooring and a slightly pitched wooden brown roof equipped with three ceiling fans and a portable heater. Tables and chairs are also available. Further in, there's an open verandah that offers views of the surrounding rainforest.
Dove Cottage (enhanced accessible features)
Dove Cottage at Narrows Escape offers enhanced accessible features, and furniture in the bedroom can be moved to provide additional access. From reception, guests follow a path through gardens, leading to the cottage at the end which is accessible via a timber ramp. The spa bath is accessible from the verandah.
Entry is through a glass sliding door with a small ramp. Inside, there's a leather couch to the right and a fully equipped kitchen to the left. The bedroom, straight ahead, features garden views and leads to a spacious bathroom with two sinks, a walk-in shower with a bench seat, and a toilet. Here, there is access to the verandah spa overlooking the rainforest.
Kookaburra Cottage
Kookaburra Cottage is the first on the left off the brick path from reception. It is accessed via a timber deck. The entrance area, overlooking the rainforest, leads to a small table, chairs, hammock, and a security gate to a plunge pool with two sun loungers, accessible by two steps.
The cottage features a small step and manual sliding door. Inside, to the left is a dining area, and to the right, a leather couch and coffee table in front of the TV, with the kitchen directly ahead. A timber floor with a rug extends to a spa bath with rainforest views.
The bedroom, straight ahead from the living area, has a window overlooking the pool and leads to a bathroom with a shower (small step), toilet, and sink.
