Arrival
The Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex on Fisherman's Road is a large sports facility featuring four ovals and 20 netball courts. The parking area is spacious and well-marked, with accessible car parking spaces located close to the main entrance. A designated area for bus drop-offs, pick-ups, and parking is available nearby, ensuring convenient access for groups.
The area is designed to support smooth movement, with clear pathways connecting the parking and sports facilities. Visitors are likely to arrive for sports events, training sessions, or tournaments, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and activity. The environment is lively, with sounds of conversations and preparations filling the air.
Netball Courts
The netball facility includes 20 hard courts and six grass courts. Courts 1 and 2 are concrete, Courts 3 to 16 are asphalt, and Courts 17 to 26 are turf. Each court measures 30.5 by 15.25 metres, offering ample space for games and training sessions.
Shade structures and picnic tables are positioned around the area, providing seating and rest spaces for players and spectators. The courts are equipped with tall floodlights, ensuring clear visibility for evening games. The setting is functional and organised, with activity centred on matches, practice sessions, and social interactions in the shaded areas.
Netball Building
The Sunshine Coast Netball Association area includes a modern building designed with concrete, glass, and timber features. Access to the building is provided by a concrete ramp with handrails and stairs, also equipped with handrails.
In front of the building, an outdoor seating area with picnic tables offers a space for visitors to sit and relax. The central section has an office window, while a kiosk selling snacks and drinks is located on the right.
A corridor on the left leads to amenities, including male, female, and unisex accessible bathrooms fitted with grab bars and a baby changing station. The area is likely busy during events, with a mix of activity at the kiosk and seating area.
AFL Fields
The AFL Fields include four floodlit ovals surrounded by open green spaces and modern amenities. The Neil Upton Oval (Oval 1), sized at 165 x 135 metres, is available for special events only. Rayner Matson Oval (Oval 2) measures 135 x 110 metres, Oval 3 is 155 x 127 metres, and Oval 4 is 165 x 135 metres.
Tiered seating is positioned around the ovals, providing ample viewing areas. Parking facilities, including accessible car parking spaces, are located close to the building and main oval.
Inside the AFL Building, an accessible bathroom with grab bars is available. Visitors are likely to watch games, participate in sports, or enjoy the green surroundings, creating an active and engaging atmosphere.
Community Building
The Community Building is a low-set concrete and glass building with large windows and a modern design. The entrance includes a ramp and stairs, both equipped with handrails for accessibility. In front of the building is a parking area with designated accessible car parking spaces.
Entry is via a sliding glass door. Inside, bathrooms for male, female, and unisex use are on the right, equipped with toilets, showers, grab bars, and shower benches, along with a changeroom. Further in, an inward-opening door leads to a carpeted open-plan area that can be configured into smaller rooms. A small commercial kitchen is positioned to the right. Club members names are displayed on the walls.
AFL Building
The AFL Building is a two-storey concrete building with metal railings, offering a modern and functional design. The entrance is accessible via a ramp with handrails or stairs with handrails.
Inside, the changerooms are spacious and equipped with bench chairs for seating. Bathroom stalls with grab bars provide additional support for users. The area is designed for efficiency, accommodating visitors who are preparing for sports activities, changing clothes, or using the facilities.
Soccer Fields
The soccer complex has three fields, including a main field measuring 105 by 70 metres and two smaller junior fields. A low-set concrete building near the fields houses change rooms and accessible bathrooms.
A parking lot, including accessible car parking spaces, is located close by, with a step-free concrete ramp connecting to the building. The open space features well-maintained grass fields. Visitors are likely to participate in soccer games, training, or spectating. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, with sounds of play and cheering.
