Arrival at Maleny Library
Maleny Library on Coral Street, next to Tesch Park, has a low-set building with a bright yellow concrete façade. Parking is available at the front, with one accessible car parking space, additional parking, and a bus stop nearby. Entry options include stairs with handrails or a ramp with handrails on the left side.
On the left of the building are male, female, and all-gender accessible bathrooms. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, ideal for reading or relaxing. Visitors are likely to explore the library, enjoy the nearby park, or use the picnic tables in the peaceful setting, accompanied by the gentle rustling of leaves.
Entrance & Reception
The library entrance presents a modern appearance with automatic glass sliding doors. Access is provided by steps or a ramp with handrails on the left. The exterior features bright yellow and green accents, with book return slots conveniently located outside.
To the left, another door leads into the library. On the right, self-service kiosks are available, while to the left, a help desk and reception with a green front offer assistance. The quiet environment ensures a focused and relaxed experience for patrons.
Library Catalogue
Maleny Library is a spacious area with large windows allowing natural light to fill the space. Mobile shelving units are arranged in wide aisles with clear signage, ensuring easy navigation.
To the left is a newspaper reading area with seating, while the right side houses a tech support space. The children’s activity section, nearby, has comfortable seating. Storytelling runs on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30am, and Baby Rhyme sessions occur on Fridays from 9:30am to 10am. Noise levels rise during these sessions, after school hours, and school holidays, with quieter periods generally from 11am to 3pm.
Computer & Study Area
The computer and study area at Maleny Library has a modern, open layout with carpeted floors and bright lighting. Bookshelves are arranged neatly, with dedicated spaces for computer use and study. From the entrance, go straight past the seating area and photocopying machine on the left, and bookshelves on the right, then turn right.
This area has wide aisles and clear signage, including exit signs. Large windows offer views of greenery, creating a calm atmosphere. High-back chairs provide comfortable seating, making it ideal for reading, studying, or computer use in a focused environment. Please note that school children may access this area after 3pm during a school week.
