Arrival at Lawnton Aquatic Centre

The Lawnton Aquatic Centre is a brown brick, open-air facility with a small reception building nestled amongst large established gum trees and is located in a busy suburban neighbourhood. There are two accessible car parking spaces located within the small car park. Surrounding the facility is a parkland and large trees. There is a step-free ramp from the car park to the entrance.

The single-storey facility features the brown brick design and a shade of white walls. The large trees surrounding the area provide shade due to its spreading canopy and crown.

Entry at Lawnton Aquatic Centre

An enclosed breezeway within the aquatic building leads to the reception area via a series of directional signs. The reception counter is directly ahead and to your left is a small retail offering goggles and swimwear, whilst veering to the right will lead you to café seating area.

The accessible bathrooms with showers are located close to the entrance. There is substantial shade in this area due to the large, open verandahs where movable tables and chairs are arranged for seating.

This is the left side of the café where you will see a retail store with Zoggs and Speedo products on display such as colorful swimwear and goggles. This side has a white ceiling and beige roof support. On the right side of the floor, there lies a short and long standee where safety precautions for children and other important reminders are being posted.
The view of the aquatic building that leads to the café where food and beverages are available. Upon entering the store, posters attached to the ceiling braces are noticeable. On the left side, the poster has both male and female models wearing beach attire representing the brand, Speedo. The poster on the right has also swimwear models under the brand Zoggs. Immediate to the right is the café seating area. There are also short black partitions with ice cream posters with the brand name, Peters.
This is a view of the centre’s exterior; where the main feature is the row of white partition walls where accessible bathrooms are situated. The café area can be seen at the right side where there are low blue barriers that showcase ads and posters to mark the area and its seating space. The low set facility is surrounded by large trees that provide expanded shades to the centre.

Indoor heated pool at Lawnton Aquatic Centre

The 25m indoor swimming pool is toward the right of reception and is a large white permanent marquee with transparent awning walls that can be lifted during the warmer months. Traversing through the brick and concrete pathway leads to a set of double glass doors and a 3-step entrance to the aquatic facility.

Natural light fills this area from the transparent walls, in addition to the fluorescent lighting within the building. There is a mechanical chair in the indoor pool area, as well as steps with handrails providing easier access to the pool. Additional plastic chairs are lined up on the pool deck for seating.

This is an exterior view of the indoor heated pool at Lawnton Aquatic Centre. There is a walkway with a "no running" sign in between the two large trees in front of the main entrance. In addition to two large trees in front of the main entrance, there are also grassed landscape areas. As you walk on the pathway, you will pass by two white pots with plants, a blue trash bin and a black low fence on both sides. A set of double glass doors serve as the main entrance of the indoor pool.
The indoor pool is visible from the inside and has a large white permanent marquee with transparent retractable awning walls, strings of banners with vibrant pennants strung between the ceiling and the blue water surface, a silver access ramp on both sides, colorful monobloc chairs, long benches, and numerous reminders written on the stone flooring and pool sides about the water level.
The access ramp is on the left side of the 25-meter pool, where banners with brightly coloured pennants are strung together and hung between the ceiling and the water's surface. Here, colorful plastic chairs are arranged all around the pool, which is surrounded by retractable transparent awning walls that let in natural light. The base of the pool prominently displays the pool's black lane floor markings.

Moving around Lawnton Aquatic Centre

An expansive, park-like space with substantial grassed areas for picnics and flat concrete pathways laid out around the facility. A 50m outdoor pool with steps and handrails, positioned adjacent to a grandstand, is the central feature of the area.

A pool hoist can be set up in the 50m pool, and an accessible ramp can be positioned to access the grandstand. Extensive shade is available under trees and the grandstand.

This is a distant view of the outdoor pool, the grandstand and the large trees around it. Two flat concrete pathways have been laid out around the area, and the building with the indoor pool can be seen on the right. The tree in the middle of the outdoor space serves as the focal point. The tree is situated inside a triangular grassed landscape that can be used for picnics.
The 50-meter outdoor pool with grey grandstand is the focal point of this view. Accessible ramps are placed on either side of the pool, and "No Diving" signs are lined up along the pool coping. The entire area is shaded by a thick canopy of large trees, and immediately to the left are cemented pool side flooring, which also partially reveals the grassy area where pool chairs are available.
