Island Charity Swim Arrival & Registration (Mudjimba)

The Island Charity Swim 2025 will take place on 14 June at the Sunshine Coast. The event includes the Island Charity Swim 10km individual swim, limited to 20 swimmers, and the Mooloolaba Charity Swim, which offers both individual and team relay options across multiple distances. Participants gather at designated start points, with signage and volunteers available for guidance.

The area includes access to nearby amenities, parking, and open spaces where visitors may wait, support swimmers, or enjoy the coastal surroundings. The main registration for the Island Charity Swim begins at 6:00 am at Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club.

Island Charity Swim Start Line (Mudjimba)

The individual Island Charity Swim is 10km from Mudjimba Beach around Mudjimba Island (Old Woman Island) to Mooloolaba Beach. Access to the start line of the Charity Island swim is via the beach track from the left of the Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club. The beach track is a 50m soft sand pathway to the lifesaving tower overlooking Mudjimba Beach.

The start line will be set up on the hard sand with Mudjimba Island (Old Woman Island) a dominant feature situated 1km directly offshore. For more information about the swim route, participants can click here.

Note: The Island Charity Swim’s individual 10km event takes place in open ocean and features a course that extends about 2km offshore. All participants must have a support team consisting of a paddler and a safety boat.

Island Charity Swim Finish Line (Mooloolaba SLSC)

Access to the finish line and festival of activities of the Island Charity swim is down the concrete ramp and accessible beach matting directly in front of the Mooloolabah SLSC. Moving onto the blue accessible beach matting, the finish line and festival activities are toward the right and situated underneath the Life Saving Tower. As a popular tourist location, large numbers of swimmers, surfers and sunbathers frequent the beach.

Island Charity Swim Amenities (Mudjimba)

Public bathrooms are located across from the carpark at the Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club in the Harry Stuart Memorial Garden. The facility includes an accessible bathroom with grab bars and a baby change table, plus a bathroom with a shower.

The parking area, which includes an accessible car parking space, is located nearby. A step-free entrance from the carpark joins a ramped access to the public facility. Surrounding the bathroom facility is an extensive children's playground, picnic tables and BBQs.

Mooloolaba Charity Swim Start and Finish Line (The Spit)

The Mooloolaba Charity Swim takes place at Mooloolaba Beach and offers several participation options across three distances. The event starts at 8:00 AM on 14 June at Mooloolaba Spit, with both the start and finish located at Mooloolaba Spit.

Participants include individuals and teams made up of everyday people joining in support of the charity swim. For more information about the swim route, participants can click here.

Mooloolaba Charity Swim Amenities & Parking (The Spit)

Public bathrooms are located on the southern side of the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club, near the Mooloolaba Start and Finish Line. The facility includes an accessible bathroom with grab bars and a baby change table.

Parking bays are available close to the amenities. A step-free entrance from the car park connects to the pathway leading to the bathrooms. Visitors in the area may be using the facilities, walking along the path, or resting in the nearby park. The space is quiet and orderly, with clear paths and a clean surrounding environment.
