Arrival
The Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre in Brisbane features a raised car park overlooking a busy road, with 12 accessible car parking spaces. The building is characterised by red brick walls and wide walkways.
There are two main entries: a ramp leading to the reception and an elevator from the main road. From the parking area, follow the brick floor that leads to the entrance, accessible via automatic sliding doors. When using the lift, turn right to access the reception desk.
The surrounding area includes a well-maintained park and clear signage directing visitors to various sections of the building.
Reception
Upon entering through the glass sliding door, the reception desk is on the right. The desk has a timber front and a lower counter to accommodate seated assistance. Soft, ambient lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere, while large windows let in natural light. Informational displays and posters are on the walls. The carpeted floor helps muffle sounds, enhancing the overall tranquility.
Suites
The suites are located to the left of the reception desk, with additional suites located across. The suites are designed for comfort and calm, featuring frosted glass walls for privacy, soft lighting, and minimalistic décor.
Each room is equipped with a consultation table, chairs, and some have additional seating or small desks. The hallway leading to the rooms is carpeted, adding to the quiet ambiance. The overall atmosphere is serene, making it ideal for private consultations.
Healthy Living Centre
To access the Rehabilitation Centre, turn left from the entrance and follow the carpeted corridor, which transitions to vinyl flooring. The gym area is open-plan, with exercise equipment and therapy stations placed in the centre and along the sides.
On the left is a small kitchenette with a coffee machine, sink, microwave, and fridge. Movable tables and chairs are arranged along the sides of the room.
On the right, accessible toilets are equipped with grab bars and modern fixtures, offering ample space. Large windows throughout the centre provide natural light and views of the outside greenery.
Assistive Technology
The Assistive Technology room is designed to support individuals with various disabilities. It includes a bed, a sitting area with a small table, and a workspace equipped with multiple assistive devices.
To access this room, follow the carpeted corridor to the left of the reception. Enter through the third door on the right, which opens inward. On the right is a display kitchen with a sink. Tables and chairs are arranged in the middle of the room.
The space has white walls, good lighting, and a mix of open and closed storage spaces. The room is practical, with a focus on functionality and accessibility.
