Arrival at Gunyama

Gunyama Park and Recreation Centre on Zetland Avenue is a 2-level commercial building with a concrete and glass façade, featuring three entry points. The main entrance, at the corner of Joynton Avenue and Zetland Avenue, provides four accessible car parking spaces just 18 metres away. Visitors can use the inclined step-free ramp and enter through an automatic glass doors. 

The second entrance is further along Zetland Avenue next to the café and accessible through automated glass doors. The third entrance, reserved for school and private bookings, is directly opposite the sports field. Access via a short pathway with a video intercom linking to reception on the right. Entry is through an inward opening gate.

In the centre stands a commercial building crafted from concrete, glass, and tiles. The facility's name is displayed on the building's facade. Entrance to Gunyama

The main entrance to Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre is through double automatic glass doors. Directly ahead is the reception, featuring a grey high desk with a small brick design and a lower desk for seated assistance. To the right are gated entries with separate access for entrance and exit.

On the left, a hallway leads to accessible bathrooms, including a separate unisex ambulant toilet.  Adjacent is a retail area showcasing swimwear and accessories for sale. Movable tables and large couch style chairs are arranged for seating.

When entering from the secondary entrance the dedicated café is located on the left and via a single set of automatic glass doors.

Gunyama Park Café

To access the Café, turn left at the reception and proceed down a hallway through a set of automatic glass sliding doors. An additional entry to the Café is available from Zetland Avenue, accessible via a ramp or stairs, and entry through automatic glass sliding doors.

Movable chairs and tables are arranged inside with additional seating outside for al fresco dining. The café features a white reception desk with a brick design.

A fridge on the left displays a range of cold drinks and snacks, as well as available snacks on the menu on the digital screen. There are two accessible unisex toilets directly opposite the cafe's counter for convenience.

The glass door entrance features a non-slip mat. Inside the cafe, movable tables and chairs are arranged. To the right, the reception desk has a white brick counter equipped with posters. Indoor Aquatic Centre

To access the Indoor Aquatic Centre at Gunyama Park, turn right past the controlled gates to the right of the reception. Enter through two sets of automatic glass doors. Directly ahead is the Aqua Play Pool, equipped with handrails, a wading area, slides, tipping buckets, fountains, and other water features.

To the right is the outdoor shower area, next to which are the accessible Cabana-style change rooms with showers. Adjacent to the Aqua Play Pool is the 25m Program Pool, also equipped with a ramp with handrails and movable floors ranging from 0 to 2 metres.

The ceiling features a white translucent ceiling with timber bars, and the glass walls on the left provide a view of the outdoor pool.

In the middle, movable white chairs with mesh designs are arranged. To the right, a white wall with signage for the accessible toilet is present. Rubbish bins are visible. Behind, the Aqua Play Pool features a yellow slide with fountains, tipping buckets, and water features. Outdoor Aquatic Centre

To access the Outdoor Aquatic Centre proceed past the barrier gates on the right of the reception and veer left. Enter through two sets of automatic glass sliding doors, or access this outdoor area from the indoor pool hall.

Directly ahead, a circular shade covers a section of the Leisure Pool, equipped with a waded entry and handrail. Next to it is the 50m lap pool, featuring a ramp and stepped entry with handrails on both sides.

Accessible Cabana-style change rooms, designed for individuals and families, are located to the left of the Leisure Pool, equipped with showers and hand grabs. Unisex, accessible toilets are also available in this area. Chairs and bench seating are available on the right of the lap pool.

Entrance to the Outdoor Aquatic Centre is through a floor-to-ceiling automatic glass door, with an exit sign placed on top. Outside, lockers are on the left near the accessible bathroom. Immediately ahead is the Leisure Pool with a large circular shade structure.

Hydrotherapy Pool

The Hydrotherapy Pool is located past the controlled gates and turning right. Enter through two sets of automatic glass sliding doors. The Hydrotherapy pool features a ramp entry with handrails and is utilized for swim school and aquatic group fitness classes. 

The rectangular shaped room has a ceiling with various heights, high windows, and upward shining fluorescent spotlights. A hoist is available upon request from staff.

Within the pool space, separate male and female change rooms are available, equipped with a Changing Places Facility including an accessible toilet, hand grabs, showers, an adult change table, and a ceiling hoist. The Changing Places has dual entry from the main entrance and Hydrotherapy Pool.

Gymnasium and Fitness Studios

The Gymnasium & Group Fitness Studios are located on Level One. Access is through the turnstiles at the right of the reception & via the timber staircase with handrails to move to level 1 or the adjacent lift. The walls and ceiling feature timber design throughout.

After passing through a second set of barrier gates, the gym reception is on the right. The floor transitions from timber to black rubber tiles. The weights section with Smith Machines, weights, and Bench Press Machines are to the left and cardio equipment on the right.

An accessible bathroom with showers and toilets, including hand grabs, is available to the left from the reception desk. Further left are the four dedicated Fitness Studios.
