Gold Coast Performance Centre Visual Story
Arrival & Entrance
The Gold Coast Performance Centre on Sports Drive in Runaway Bay features a modern open design with glass and metal structures and dome-shaped roofing supported by exposed beams. Parking is available beside the entrance, with wide concrete pathways leading to the double automatic glass sliding doors.
Inside, the reception area has a curved desk, brown timber flooring, and neutral-coloured walls. From here, another set of automatic glass sliding doors provides access to the main facilities and amenities.
An accessible bathroom with grab bars and shower is located on the right, ensuring ease of use for all visitors. The layout supports smooth movement between areas, offering a functional and welcoming entry experience.
Gymnasium
The Gold Coast Performance Centre Gymnasium is accessed through an automatic glass sliding door, opening into a spacious area with a white sail-dome roof and black rubber flooring. Glass walls allow natural light, while a large wall fan provides ventilation.
On the left is a storage rack for belongings, followed by professional heavy equipment machines, including treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, leg press, Lat Pulldown machine, and Smith machines.
Towards the back is the High-Performance Strength and Conditioning gym, featuring two lifting platforms, a rig, cable machines, conditioning equipment, and a team training area. The space is energetic, with loud music and active workouts.
Exercise Studio
The Exercise Studio features a spacious corridor with two outward-opening glass door entrances. Inside, the room has highly varnished wooden floors that create reflections and glare, enhanced by ceiling-to-floor mirrors along the walls. The modern design incorporates glass and concrete elements.
Entering from the main entrance, the first door is marked with a sign reading "Group Ex". On the left, a wall-to-wall mirror and a small platform are positioned for instructor use. Exercise equipment is stacked neatly against the wall. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, with amplified music and voices echoing across the space, which is designed for dance and exercise classes.
25m Indoor Pool
To access the 25 metre Indoor Pool from the main entrance, proceed straight, passing the gym on the right. At the end of the lobby, turn right and enter through the black metal gate on the left marked with a sign for the 25 metre pool. Inside, the pool area has high ceilings and large windows, allowing natural light to illuminate the space.
Glass railings surrounding the pool, a seating area is on the left, and the pool is on the right. The pool is equipped with handrails and a pool hoist and is heated to 32 degrees with a depth of 0.7 to 1.3 metres.
On the left are amenities, including an accessible bathroom equipped with a toilet, shower with grab bars, and a baby changing station.
50m Outdoor Pool
To access the 50 metre pool from the main entrance, proceed straight, passing the gym on the right and a ramp on the left. At the end of the lobby, turn right and enter through a black metal gate on the left marked with a sign reading "50m Pool".
Inside, the pool area features high ceilings and large windows that allow natural light to fill the space. The pool has 8 lanes with starting blocks and is heated to 27 degrees. On the left, a shaded grandstand provides seating for up to 200 people.
Additional seating with large umbrella shades is available along the pool deck. Across the pool area, the amenities include an accessible bathroom with a shower, toilet with grab bars, shower bench, and baby changing station.
Outdoor Athletics Track
The outdoor athletics track is an open area with a bright red synthetic surface surrounded by wide green grass fields. A modern grandstand with a shaded canopy provides seating for up to 550 spectators, offering a clear view of the track. Accessible entry to the field is available through black gates near the reception area, leading directly to the oval.
The facilities include accessible bathrooms with grab bars and wide stalls. People can be seen running, training, or watching events, contributing to an energetic atmosphere. The environment promotes fitness and community, with a steady rhythm of activity and movement across the track and field.
Kids Zone
The Kids Zone is located to the right of the reception area and accessed through an inward-opening glass door. The space has high ceilings and large windows that let in natural light. Inside, colourful signs and playful designs create a cheerful setting. The flooring combines wood and soft mats to support safe movement and play.
An outward-opening glass door leads to a fenced outdoor area with green rubber mat flooring, a swing, and a climbing structure. Another outward-opening glass door opens to an open playing area, with a basketball and play equipment.
The area is designed for active and social play, where children can move freely and safely. The overall environment supports both fun and learning in a bright, open setting.
Beach Volleyball
To access the Beach Volleyball Arena, proceed straight from the main entrance to the end of the lobby, then turn right toward a black metal gate. Follow the brick pathway and turn left to reach the arena.
The Volleyball arena is set in deep sand and is surrounded by eight modern accommodation buildings with curved roofs and large windows. On the left, a shaded, tiered seating area offers a comfortable space for spectators. The environment is lively and active, with players engaging in games or practice sessions. The tall floodlights indicate that evening play is also available.
Accommodation
The accommodation consists of older-style buildings with domed roofs and distinct colour schemes for each unit. The structures are primarily timber and concrete, with stepped entry points that include handrails but limit accessibility for those with mobility challenges.
Entry is through a manual sliding mesh door. On the left, couches face a flatscreen TV, and a dining area is positioned nearby. A small kitchenette on the right supports basic cooking needs. Each lodge has 10 air-conditioned bedrooms, each with two single bunk beds.
A step with handrails leads to the upper level, where additional rooms and bathrooms are located. An external staircase with handrails also provides access to the upper level.
Hockey Fields
The Hockey Field area includes a bright blue professional hockey arena positioned at the rear of the facility. The arena is enclosed by a chain-link fence, with access provided through a black mesh gate. Surrounding the arena are well-maintained pathways and grass.
On the left, tiered seating offers a clear view of the field, suitable for spectators. The area features prominent stadium lighting, ensuring excellent visibility during evening events. The space is designed for energetic activities, with players engaged in games and spectators cheering.
