Gold Coast Cycle Centre Visual Story
Arrival
Gold Coast Cycle Centre is located on Hope Street in Nerang. The arrival area has a concrete ramp that leads to two paths: one towards the grandstand and another to the main building entrance. The ramp is bordered by concrete walls and fitted with metal handrails and tactile paving for navigation and support.
The surface is smooth, with some areas becoming uneven or slippery when wet. The space is surrounded by greenery, including palm trees. Visitors are typically moving between the carpark and the venue entrances. The layout supports easier navigation with defined paths and clear signage.
Carpark
The carpark area features street parking with two accessible car parking spaces, marked by clear signage. The environment is surrounded by lush greenery, providing a calm and natural atmosphere. From the carpark, there are wide, concrete pathways equipped with handrails leading to the entrance.
The presence of construction traffic may add some noise, but the overall setting remains peaceful. Visitors are likely to park their vehicles and proceed towards nearby buildings, guided by the clear signage.
Entrance
The area includes a long ramp leading to a building entrance, suitable for wheelchair access. The ramp is bordered by metal railings and includes a platform with a clear view of the surroundings. The low-set building is made of brick and glass, equipped with an outward-opening glass door. Trees surround the area, adding natural elements to the environment.
Visitors may be walking, cycling, or using wheelchairs as they move toward the entrance. The layout supports ease of movement, and the space is calm with people steadily approaching the building.
Building
Inside, the venue has a large open area with carpeted flooring, neutral-coloured walls, and glass windows offering a view of the field. There are small rooms with projectors and whiteboards, suitable for meetings or orientation. Outward-opening glass doors lead to the Grandstand area for spectators.
To the right of the entrance is an accessible toilet with grab bars. To the left, an inward-opening door leads to a kitchen suitable for catering. Tables and chairs are available. Adjustable blinds can be lifted for views of the track. A stairway to the left of the entrance leads to changerooms, additional toilets, and storage sheds. The layout supports events, meetings, or social use.
Small Grandstand & Amenities
The small grandstand area has tiered seating made of metal and tactiles, facing the field. From the grandstand, concrete pathways lead to outdoor amenities, accessible via a ramp. These amenities include changerooms and an accessible toilet with grab bars. Additional changerooms and toilets are located in the main building.
The area is active, with people walking or riding bikes. The ground surface is uneven in some parts, requiring care when moving. The space supports sporting activities, with visitors likely preparing for cycling, using facilities, or viewing events from the stands.
