Arrival at Coolum Civic Centre

The Coolum Civic Centre is a standalone industrial-style building surrounded by parklands and gardens. The building has a timber façade with stone, glass, and concrete elements. Wide, step-free pathways ensure easy navigation, connecting the Centre to the town of Coolum.

Parking is directly adjacent to the building and includes two accessible car parking spaces. A step-free concrete pathway from the car park leads to the entrance, accessible via an outward-opening glass door.

The atmosphere is calm and suitable for community gatherings or events. The setting encourages social activities, meetings, or quiet enjoyment of the surroundings, enhanced by a gentle breeze and rustling leaves.

Entrance & Foyer

The Coolum Civic Centre showcases a modern design, combining glass, timber, and concrete elements. The entrance is through an outward-opening glass door, leading into a spacious lobby. To the left is a reception desk with a light blue mosaic front. A seating area is positioned in the centre, adjacent to a meeting room.

To the right, a corridor leads to the amenities, including male, female, and all-gender accessible bathrooms with toilets, showers with grab bars, and hand basins. Access to the main hall is also on the right, near the entrance.

Accessibility is prioritised, with wide hallways, accessible restrooms, and clear signage guiding visitors.

Main Hall

The main hall is a large space with polished wooden floors and a high ceiling. Access is through an outward-opening door to the right of the entrance. The room features modern architecture, with large windows letting in natural light.

Inside, there is a stage suitable for performances or presentations. The layout allows for gatherings, meetings, or social events, making it ideal for community use. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, ready for a variety of activities. The hall accommodates large groups with ease, ensuring comfort for attendees.

Meeting Rooms

The Coolum Civic Centre has two bookable meeting rooms. The larger room, which holds up to 12 people, is located past the reception desk, accessed through an inward-opening door. It includes a kitchenette with a sink, fridge, and storage cabinets.

Inside the main hall is the smaller office-style room, suitable for up to 6 people, featuring a round table and chairs. Both rooms have a modern, minimalistic look with white walls, carpeted floors, and large windows that allow plenty of natural light.

Accessibility is supported by wide doorways and adjustable lighting, making it suitable for meetings, presentations, or collaborative work in a focused setting.
