Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club Visual Story
Arrival & Parking
The Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club is on the corner of Dutton Street and Marine Parade. It features a modern, two-storey building with a white and blue façade. Parking is along the busy street, with two accessible car parking spaces to the left of the entrance.
From the car park, step-free concrete pathways lead to automatic glass doors. The main entrance is wide and spacious, offering a welcoming and accessible entry point for all visitors.
Admin Counter
Entering through the automatic glass sliding door, the admin counter with a white façade is on the left. The space has a modern design with a circular black ceiling with recessed lighting, centered around a grand staircase with handrails. To the left of the staircase is an elevator leading to the restaurant. Couches are placed under the stairs.
The walls display framed images, club members’ names, and artworks. An outward-opening door at the back leads to a corridor showcasing more club achievements. Turning right, then left, and right again leads to the male, female, and accessible toilets, which include grab bars, a shower bench, and a hand basin. Lockers line the corridor.
Entrance & Committee Room
The Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club is a spacious venue with a central communal area. The building, a mix of glass and concrete, is surrounded by greenery. From the main entrance, visitors can reach the Committee Room by heading straight through an outward-opening door and turning left.
On the left, a shelf displays trophies and club achievements, while on the right, a seating area with couches provides space for relaxation. An admin counter sits near the back entrance. This back entrance is exclusive to Club members. This entrance has wide, accessible doors with the admin counter directly ahead. The area includes bunk rooms, a gym, a meeting room, and a first aid room.
Restaurant
The restaurant is on the second floor, accessible by an elevator and a wide staircase with a metal railing. From the elevator, head straight and turn left. The interior has a carpeted area with modern décor, framed photographs, and plants.
On the left is the bar counter, while the admin counter is on the right. Various seating options are arranged throughout, with more seating near the glass windows. An accessible bathroom equipped with a toilet with grab bars, hand basin and mirror is available and located adjacent to the elevator.
The area is designed for easy navigation, with clear signage and spacious walkways. The space feels lively yet serene, ideal for socialising and enjoying meals.
Café
The outdoor café at the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club is a vibrant spot with plenty of seating under colourful awnings. Tables and chairs are arranged under the Pergola and under the trees. There are unisex accessible bathrooms, equipped with a toilet with grab bars.
Wide accessible pathways leads to the beach. The atmosphere is lively, with music playing and the sound of people chatting. Visitors come here to enjoy coffee, meals, and the refreshing sea breeze. The atmosphere is relaxed and social, making it a perfect place for casual gatherings and enjoying the coastal environment.
