Banyule City Council Admin Offices Visual Story
Arrival - Carpark Ground Level
Banyule City Council Admin Offices are located on Flintoff Street in Greensborough. The multi-storey building features the WaterMarc Aquatic facility, and the blue and green flume ride tubing are significant design elements. There are several arrival and parking options. The ground-level carpark is open and spacious, with clear markings and accessible car parking spaces located near the entrance. The ground-level carpark sits atop the multi-deck underground carpark.
Signage for directions and height clearance is visible. Some greenery is present around the area. From the ground-level carpark, there are step-free concrete pathways that lead to the building entrance. Entry is through automatic sliding glass doors. Visitors may be arriving, parking, or entering the building for appointments or to go swimming within WaterMarc.
Arrival - Multi Deck Underground Carpark
The three car parking areas—the multi-deck underground, ground-level, and basement carparks—are all accessed from the same entrance points on Flintoff Street. The carpark names support orientation and wayfinding for visiting guests. Moving from the multi-deck underground carpark to the facility entrance is usually via an elevator or a stairwell that emerges at ground level onto Greensborough Walk.
Arriving visitors move across Greensborough Walk to enter the Banyule City Council building. There is significant lighting and directional signage to support movement and increase confidence in wayfinding.
The space is often active, with cars parking and people moving to and from their vehicles. The environment is practical, supporting efficient access to surrounding facilities.
Arrival - Basement Carpark
The Basement Carpark is a multi-level concrete structure with ample space for vehicles. Clear signage is present to assist with navigation. Accessible parking spaces are clearly marked and located near the entrance. A central elevator well is the focal point for arriving and departing guests. Access to the elevators is through automatic glass sliding doors.
A major difference between the Basement Carpark and the multi-deck underground carpark is that the elevators open directly inside the Banyule City Council building, allowing visitors to avoid all external weather conditions.
Elevators and stairs provide access to the upper levels. The area is often active, with people parking, using elevators, and heading to nearby facilities. The setting is functional, supporting efficient access and transit.
Greensborough Walk
The Greensborough Walk is a central walkway connecting Flintoff and Main Streets. The wide, step-free walkway passes directly in front of the Banyule City Council Offices, WaterMarc, ground-level carparking, and multiple café and retail outlets.
The area features a modern urban setting with glass buildings and colourful water slides. The architecture includes a mix of glass and metal materials. Wide pathways are lined with planters and benches, providing seating along the route. Visitors arriving from the ground-level and multi-deck underground carparks use this walkway to reach the main entrance.
Accessibility features include flat, smooth surfaces and clear signage. People may be walking, socialising, or visiting nearby shops and services. The environment supports both movement and gathering in a functional public space.
Entrance & Cultural Foyer
The entrance to the Banyule City Council building features double automatic glass sliding doors and a modern design. Inside, the lobby includes wood and metal finishes, seating areas with colourful chairs, and small tables for waiting or informal meetings. Large windows allow natural light into the space.
The central cultural foyer separates the café and the entrance to WaterMarc Aquatic Centre, with a central elevator and stairwell.
Accessibility features include clear signage, elevators, and unisex accessible toilets with grab bars. Visitors may be meeting, waiting, or accessing council services. The environment is calm and professional, supporting community-related activities.
Level 3 - Council Customer Service
The Council Customer Service area is located on Level 3 and is accessed via elevators or stairs, with clear signage throughout. Entry is through an automatic glass sliding door. Inside, the space includes tiled floors, wood and stone wall finishes, and ceilings with wooden slats and integrated lighting.
The reception foyer contains a large marble reception desk with multiple seating options. Visitors may be standing at reception, talking to staff, waiting for appointments, attending meetings, or accessing council services.
A series of bookable meeting spaces and offices is available on Level 3, along with an accessible bathroom with grab bars. Rooms and spaces have differing styles, from low office desks to high desks with stool options.
The environment is calm and professional, with features that support accessibility and ease of navigation.
Level 4 - Council Meeting Rooms
The Council Meeting Rooms are on Level 4, accessible by elevator or stairs. From the elevator, visitors enter through the automatic glass sliding door. Inside, a corridor on the right leads to Meeting Rooms 4.01 to 4.06. A central meeting space connects the bookable meeting rooms and is often used for catering, coffee and snacks.
Each meeting room has presentation equipment, a conference table, chairs, and a kitchenette. The setting is organised for professional meetings and efficient engagement based on the hirer's preferences.
