Arrival at Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre

The Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre located in Church Street is a large facility constructed with white brick, corrugated iron roofing, and substantial concrete structures at the front featuring steel and glass elements.

Adjacent to the facility is parking, including two accessible car parking spaces. Additional roadside parking and an extensive car park are available across a small pedestrian bridge to the right.

Access to the building is facilitated by a ramped entrance on the left or stairs with handrails at the front. The facility features a manual glass door with the facility’s name in bold letters overhead. Trees and gardens surround the facility.

Entrance

Entrance to the Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre is through a manual inward-opening glass door. On the left, there is a reception desk a with a low-height counter.

To the right, a gated barrier allows members to scan or present their paid tickets for entry. The walls on the right showcase a collage of images and promotional materials for the aquatic centre and the floor surface is made of grey carpet.

Tables and chairs are positioned on the left of the entrance. A small retail area offering goggles and other swimming accessories is located on the wall behind the reception. The indoor aquatic centre is directly ahead.

Indoor Aquatic Centre

Upon entering the indoor aquatic centre from reception, directly ahead is the Leisure and Toddler Pool with a beach entry, fountain, and sloping stairs with handrails. Bench seating is provided for parents and carers to relax as they observe their children or dependents playing.

The 25m lap pool with stairs entry and handrails as well as a ramp, is further to the right upon entry. The high ceiling features an all-white corrugated design, and extensive floor-to-ceiling glass walls allow ample natural light into the space.

On the left is access to the male and female change rooms as well as two accessible bathrooms with showers.

Outdoor Aquatic Centre

To access the Outdoor Aquatic Centre, enter through the glass door from the reception, proceeding between the 25m Pool and Toddler Pool leading through a large upward folding door.

Upon entry, the 50m 8-lane lap pool is directly ahead, featuring ramp entry with handrails as well as stairs toward the left of the 50m Pool. A dedicated Water Polo pool is situated to the right of the 50m Pool.

Extensive shaded tiered seating is available on the far side of the outdoor aquatic centre, with additional seating under shade structures adjoining the main building facility.

In the middle is the 50m 8-lane lap pool equipped with a ramp and step entry with handrails. Floating ropes and blue buntings run across the pool. Diving boards with covers are aligned on the raised pool deck on the right. Beyond the pool is an extensive tiered seating with shade. To the far left is a two-storey white building. Trees surround the area.

Programs Pool

The Programs Pool is situated in the farthest right corner of the Indoor Aquatic Centre, beyond the 25m Lap Pool. Access is through an outward-opening glass door, with bench chairs positioned outside the entrance.

The pool features a ramp entrance with handrails on both sides. Aquatic wheelchairs are also available for use. The low-level corrugated design ceiling is equipped with fluorescent lights that form a continuous strip light above the perimeter of the pool.

On the left, two accessible family changerooms with showers are available. Additionally, a glass door provides access to the outdoor splash park.

Entrance to the Program Pool is through an outward-opening glass door with hand grabs and facility stickers. A fire exit sign is mounted on top. To the left is a storage rack for belongings. Splash Park

To access the Splash Park from the reception, enter through the Indoor Aquatic Centre and go through the large upward folding doors on the right. The outdoor Splash Park offers a resort-like atmosphere with giant palm trees and multi-coloured shade cloths.

In the centre is a blue slide with tipping buckets, water sprays, geysers, waterfalls, and fountains. Plastic tables and chairs are arranged under large blue umbrella shades for seating.

Gymnasium

Access to the gym (also called the multi-purpose room) is via the Splash Park. Proceed towards the low-rise building with glass windows on the right. Enter through a manual outward-opening glass door. 

The compact gym space features black rubber tiles, white concrete walls, and an industrial-style ceiling with fluorescent lights and air conditioning vents. The free weights area is on the left of the entrance.

In the middle are the weight and resistance machines alongside the cardio machines. To the right are additional weights in front of a floor-to-ceiling mirror. Unisex toilets and an accessible bathroom equipped with a shower are located within the gym.

The concourse of the building is adorned with orange trees and manicured grass. The structure itself is white with glass walls. Warning and safety signs are affixed to the right wall. The non-slippery floor showcases colourful shapes in blue and red.
Entry to the gymnasium is through a manually operated outward-opening glass door. The left wall is glass with affixed banners, while the right wall is concrete grey with signage. The interior floor is composed of black rubber tiles, and weights arranged on the sides are visible.
