Apex Camps Sunshine Coast Visual Story
Arrival
Apex Camp Sunshine Coast, located on Nojoor Road in Twin Waters, is surrounded by trees. The car park is on the left with several parking spaces available.
A concrete pathway from the car park leads to a shaded structure used as an assembly point. The area includes both paved and unpaved surfaces, with trees providing shade.
Pathways connect covered structures and open spaces, allowing easy movement between different sections of the camp. The natural surroundings create a peaceful environment for camp activities.
Laird Dormitory
The Laird Dormitory is a single-storey, air-conditioned facility with a green façade, designed for up to 104 people. From the main entrance, a narrow concrete pathway leads to the building. A concrete ramp with handrails leads to an inward-opening door. Turning right leads to a bathroom, and turning left leads to a room with bunk beds.
Straight ahead is the common area, a carpeted open area with couches. Laird building has four dormitories, each with bunk beds for 24 people, and four private rooms for teachers or supervisors, each with king single beds.
The dormitories have natural light and storage units. The common area is large, carpeted, and has tables and chairs for group activities.
Banksia Dormitory
The Banksia Dormitory is a single-storey building with a painted facade. From the entrance, turn left and follow the concrete pathway beside the Laird building.
A ramp with handrails on the left leads to one dormitory. Continuing along the pathway brings you to the common room, accessible via a glass sliding door. The room is carpeted with couches, and across from it is another dormitory.
Banksia has two dormitories, one with 16 bunk beds and the other with 14. There are two rooms for teachers or supervisors, each with a king single bed. Wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are included. The building has reverse-cycle air conditioning.
Dining
The dining area features an undercover outdoor space with tables and chairs arranged under a large shade cloth. From the entrance, turn right and follow the concrete pathway around the right of the Laird building.
A concrete ramp leads to the dining area. A glass sliding door on the right opens to the kitchen, which is spacious and equipped with modern appliances, stainless steel counters, and ample storage. Moving ahead, turn right to a corridor, with the common area on the left and Dining Area 2 on the right. Wide doors ensure easy access.
The outdoor dining area is surrounded by greenery, offering a pleasant atmosphere. High-quality buffet-style meals are prepared by an onsite catering team.
Basketball & Pool
The outdoor basketball court and pool area are located across from the dining area, accessible by turning right from the parking area. The basketball court is enclosed by a chain-link fence with hoops at each end and is surrounded by trees.
Adjacent to the court is the pool area, which features a small oval-shaped pool with a shaded canopy overhead. The pool is surrounded by a brick-paved deck with seating available.
Accessibility features include a flat, paved entrance to the pool area, and seating around the pool. The venue is open and spacious, with ample natural light and greenery.
Rock Climbing
The Climbing Rockwall stands 12 metres high, making it one of the largest outdoor climbing walls. It is located in a spacious grassy area, surrounded by tall trees. The area is enclosed by a chain-link fence for safety.
To the right of the climbing wall, there is a covered seating area with picnic tables, while additional climbing structures are positioned on the left. The ground around the wall is covered with mulch for fall protection.
To access the rock climbing wall, turn right from the parking area. The natural setting provides a calm atmosphere for climbers.
High & Low Ropes
The High & Low Ropes outdoor adventure area features a range of high and low ropes courses set among the trees. The courses include cables, logs, bridges, and ropes, all approximately 50 cm off the ground. The area is spacious with grassy fields and shaded by tall trees.
The courses are supported by sturdy wooden poles and secured with cables. The area is fenced for safety, and there are open spaces for spectators or resting participants.
Fire Pit & Mid Rope Course
This outdoor area features a fire pit surrounded by blue benches, providing a communal space for gatherings.
Adjacent to the fire pit is a mid ropes course, offering adventurous activities amidst the natural setting. The area is spacious with ample room for running around, bordered by a fence for safety.
The ground is mostly grassy with some patches of dirt, and the surrounding trees provide shade and a natural ambiance. Accessibility may be limited due to the uneven terrain and lack of paved paths.
Mud Pit
The Fun in the Mud activity area is an outdoor adventure space set within a forested environment. It features a mud pit, tire obstacles, and various wooden structures for climbing and balancing.
The area is surrounded by tall trees, providing ample shade and a natural ambiance. The ground is a mix of grass, dirt, and mud, with some areas having standing water.
Extra caution is advised due to the uneven terrain and lack of paved paths. The space is designed for physical activity and play, encouraging participants to get dirty and enjoy the outdoors.
Archery Field
To access the archery field, turn right from the entrance and follow the concrete pathway. Pass the Laird Building on the left and Banksia Dormitory.
The archery field is nestled on the grassy area on the left. It has an outdoor seating area with rows of blue plastic chairs under a metal canopy, all facing the targets. The targets are set against green netting, surrounded by forest. To the left of the seating area is an open grassy space with scattered trees.
Nearby, there is a chook pen, adding to the natural atmosphere. The area is accessible via a dirt path, with seating arranged for groups.
Proud Building
The Proud Building is a two-storey accommodation facility surrounded by trees. From the main entrance, head straight, passing the office building on the left and a grass field on the right.
Behind the office is the Proud Dormitory, which has four dormitories, each with bunk beds for up to 22 people, and four teacher/supervisor rooms with king single beds. Each dormitory includes a self-contained bathroom with two toilets and two showers, one of which is wheelchair accessible.
The building has reverse cycle air conditioning. Outside, picnic tables are set under trees, and paved pathways provide easy access for all visitors.
Auditorium
The Auditorium is a spacious, two-story structure surrounded by lush greenery. To access it from the main entrance, head straight passing by the office and the Proud building on the left.
The large auditorium inside measures 10m x 26.4m and can seat approximately 200 people. It features a TV, DVD player, and whiteboard. The hall can be divided into two sections with a partition.
The interior is well-lit with natural light from high windows and has ample seating with sofas and chairs. The building has wide double doors for easy access.
