Arrival & Parking

Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre on Boundary Street is a low-set structure made of concrete, steel, and glass, with extended roofing. It is located in the rural township of Kurri Kurri, surrounded by residential housing and bushland. 

The shared flat car park in front of the entrance connects to a nearby sports field and includes seven accessible car parking spaces. The step-free entry transitions from bitumen to concrete. A bicycle rack is positioned on the right of the entrance. The surrounding area feels open, with fresh country air and sounds of bushland. Visitors participate in fitness activities or use the sports facilities in a peaceful, spacious setting.

Reception & Café

The entrance area has automatic glass sliding doors opening into a space with low ceilings and fluorescent lighting. The flooring transitions from concrete to a firm blue carpet, providing a noticeable tactile change.

Indoor Aquatic Centre

The Indoor Aquatic facility features a domed roof with extensive skylights that provide ample natural light. Visitors enter the pool area through an inward-opening glass door located to the left of the reception desk. Directly in front is the toddler wading pool, and adjacent to it is the learn-to-swim pool, which is equipped with steps and handrails for easy access.

To the left is an 8-lane, 25-metre heated pool, that offers multiple entry options, including steps with handrails and a pelican pool hoist for accessibility. Along one side, large glass folding doors can be opened to improve airflow. Accessible bathrooms are situated on the left side of the pool area and feature push-button doors, grab bars, and shower benches.

Gymnasium

The gym is located to the left of the reception, accessible through manual outward-opening glass doors. On the right, storage units are provided for belongings. Further around to the right is a small commercial kitchen with drawers. The gym space features ceiling-to-floor windows, allowing natural light.

The floor is covered with blue carpet, and orange-themed promotional materials decorate the area. Equipment includes treadmills, strength machines, cable weights, free weights, and other cardio-focused machines. The atmosphere is energetic, with maintained cool temperatures, clear pathways, and people likely using the equipment in close proximity.
