Arrival at Knox Leisureworks

Knox Leisureworks is a low-set, blue and grey building easily identifiable from Tormore Road in Boronia. There are a number of accessible car parking spaces located at the front of the facility and there is a step-free access from the car park space to the sidewalk. Bike racks are also available adjacent to the entrance.

Knox Leisureworks is a low-set building with grey-painted walls. The brand name and logo can be seen on the outside walls of the venue. A bicycle parking rack is accessible at the concrete pathway just before the main entrance door of the facility.
Motorcycles can also be parked in the accessible parking spaces in front of the facility. A number of trees with dense foliage can be found in front of the Knox Leisureworks building, as well as a landscape with ornamental shrubs. Half of the two-storey entrance building is made of glass walls.
A white car is parked in one of the accessible parking spaces beside the sidewalk and directly opposite the main entry point of Knox Leisureworks. At the individual parking spaces is an accessible parking sign for persons with disabilities.

Entrance at Knox Leisureworks

Entry into Knox Leisureworks is through a set of automatic glass doors leading into the reception area. Inside the reception desk features a blue and yellow front. Retail items are displayed behind the desk and an ice cream freezer is positioned near the entrance.

The Café is also located in this area and features movable tables and chairs and a ramp with handrails.

Aquatic Environment

Moving down from reception via the ramp the facility opens to an indoor aquatic environment. There are multiple change room dispersed on pool deck, with the main change rooms located at the bottom of the ramp.

To the left of the ramp and main change room is the Leisure pool, beyond the change rooms is the 8-lane 50m pool, warm water pool in the top right and program pool. There is a temperature change from the entrance to the pool deck where the humidity is noticeable.

Swell Café

Swell Café is located to the left of the reception counter and offers flexible seating arrangements, including options with a view of the mezzanine. The space accommodates wheelchairs and prams by allowing chairs to be moved, and high chairs are also available.

Gymnasium at Knox Leisureworks

Access the gym by heading to the right of the reception area through the glass sliding doors. Inside, you'll find a variety of equipment, including cardio machines, press machines, and a dedicated free weights area. The space is open, well-lit, and designed for comfortable use.

Bright yellow tape marks the placement of certain equipment to help with visibility and organization in a room filled with a wide range of fitness machines.

Reformer Pilates

To access the Reformer Pilates Studio, turn left when facing the front of the building (entry side) as the studio is located separately. Proceed along the footpath to a low-set building. The entrance is marked with a "Reformer Pilates" sign on the door and can be accessed via an outward-opening glass door.

The studio is air-conditioned and well-lit, featuring timber floors and 12 beds. A storage rack for belongings is positioned to the left of the entrance.

Accessible equipment at Knox Leisureworks

There are aquatic wheelchairs available for use throughout the facility. A range of bathroom and change facilities are available close to the pool hall, including a fully accessible bathroom with a hoist and adult change table.

Additionally, there are six all-gender accessible bathrooms equipped with showers, hand-held shower hoses, bench chairs and grab bars. Lockers are positioned outside the change rooms.

School Entrance at Knox Leisureworks

Access to the school entrance at Knox Leisureworks is via the footpath located to the right of the front of the building. Please note that this is an emergency exit, and the door  should be closed immediately after use. Entrance is through an outward opening glass door.

Upon entry, there is a ramp with handrails leading to the pool area. At the end of the ramp, veer right to access the school change rooms.
