Arrival at Kingston Butter Factory

The Kingston Butter Factory, situated on Jacaranda Avenue, features a red brick building with an industrial look. There is on-site parking available including three accessible car parking spaces. The building is surrounded by extensive grassed, open spaces as well gardens, art installations & an open stage.

To access the building from the carpark, follow the concrete path & pass through an arch with "Welcome to KBF" on display in a gradient shade of blue and pink. Further along, another path is bordered by landscape plants on the left, which leads to the facility. The entrance to the building is a modern glass and steel structure with two sets of double glass sliding doors.

The parking area includes three accessible spaces on the right, marked with blue wheelchairs and yellow diagonal lines. Entering into the Kingston Butter Factory

Access to the Kingston Butter Factory is through two sets of glass sliding doors which feature the opening hours and building information printed on the glass door. Upon entry, in contrast to the building's heritage exterior, the interior is modern and vibrant with bright, white walls and polished concrete floors.

Directly ahead is a large forest themed mural on the wall in addition to two digital screens. Noteworthy are the mix of classic and modern lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling.

The reception, with a low set desk and timber features is on the right, and flags are displayed overhead. There is seating available in the centre of this room.

In the middle is a double glass door, furnished with non-slip mats and step free ramp. The front door displays the facility's name and store hours. Inside there is a flat-screen TV mounted on a colorful wall and a seating bench is positioned in the middle. Both sides show the building facade made of red brick walls. Living Museum of Logan

Directly ahead of reception is a hallway leading to the bathrooms which include male and female toilets, an accessible bathroom as well as a Changing Places Facility. Moving past reception and to the right leads into the Living Museum of Logan. The very high ceiling, along with a mezzanine level, creates a bright, open space with natural light filtering through the skylights and large circular fluorescent lights.

To the left is a wall featuring children's artwork. Directly ahead are stairs leading up to the mezzanine level. Directly to the right from reception is a small café and further around to the right is First Nations space, A co-curated space by and for Logan’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Butterbox Theatre

From the entrance, turn right, past the reception area and a café on the right. Continue to the left of the staircase to locate the entrance to the Butterbox Theatre. Art paintings are hung on the left wall before the door, adjacent to a small concierge desk, which is retractable to reduce barriers to entry.

Upon entering the door, tiered seating is arranged on the right, separated by two aisles. Large beams and steel structures adorn the ceiling. The area has dimmed lighting and black wall tiles to support soundproofing.

The stage area holds substantial theatre production equipment, including boom lighting and large black drop curtains set against the red brick wall of the historical butter factory.

Mezzanine Function Room

Access to the Mezzanine Function Room is via the stairs or the lift located adjacent to reception. At the top of the stairs is a large feature wall with artwork, quotes and audio stories of previous workers at the Butter Factory. Turning right and through bright yellow doors is the Function Room.

This spacious room has a pitched ceiling with hanging light fixtures and large windows for natural light. Cushioned seating lines the walls, separated by portable dividers and black curtains.

A Hush Room is also in this area and provided a soundproof area with direct viewing to the Butterbox Theatre. This accessible space is for patrons who would be more comfortable viewing live performances from a quieter, private space.

The mezzanine provides a view of the spacious lobby below, featuring a wall adorned with art paintings. Tables and chairs are arranged in the middle, accompanied by a glass display. Mezzanine Office Spaces

The Mezzanine Office spaces are on level 1, accessible via stairs visible from the lower ground. At the top of the stairs, turn left. Directly ahead is the entrance to the accessible bathroom. Walking directly ahead is a corridor with a view out over the Living Museum of Logan to the left and offices on the right.

Half way along this corridor on the right is the staff kitchen. Continuing along the corridor is the Meeting Room which is an air conditioned with a large meeting table and office chairs.

Adjacent to the main meeting room is second small sitting area with couches. The low-level ceiling with bright fluorescent lighting and the carpeted floors create a professional office environment.

To the right is a corridor leading to the other end, secured by concrete railings. Truncated domes are present on the floor. On the left, there's a yellow door, and adjacent to it is a staircase equipped with handrails. Cushioned chairs and a center table with a potted plant are on the right. Outdoor Stage

The Outdoor Stage is situated in the expansive grassy area of Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct. A prominent banner hangs at the top, displaying "Kingston Butter Factory." The space includes a large parkland with a small sloping hillside, creating an amphitheatre effect focused on the substantial stage.

The stairs leading to the stage are painted with various contrasting colours, extending to the pavement leading to the grassy area. Access to the stage is available through stairs or the ramp entry with railings on the left side of the stage. Accessible bathrooms are beyond the entrance to the Kingston Butter Factory.
