Arrival at Heffron Centre

Heffron Centre is a shared facility along with the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ community and high-performance centre. The facility is situated on Bunnerong Road adjacent to Heffron Park and stands at the heart of Maroubra's sports hub. This two-story modern facility has a distinctive design with white bricks, a corrugated roof line, and an intricately crafted façade.

The car park, featuring eight accessible car parking spaces, is located adjacent to the entrance. To access the building, take the step-free ramp on the left and pass through a brick arc structure and continue towards the double automatic glass sliding doors. Picnic tables and chairs with umbrellas are located to the left of reception.

Entrance to the Heffron Centre

Enter through two sets of automatic glass sliding doors. On the left, is the The Burrow Café and Rabbitohs reception desk. To reach the Heffron Centre's reception desk, turn right and move down the corridor. The Sports Stadium is on the left, and on the right is the "Hall of Sporting Champion Inductees'' wall.

Further along are the male, female and an accessible unisex toilet with a shower. Continuing on is a water fountain and a fridge offering cold drinks. Additional accessible bathrooms are available on the corridor to the right.

Next is the Heffron Centre’s reception desk, featuring a long counter with a wooden timber design. At the end of the corridor is access to the bright blue Gymnastics centre.

Sports Stadium

To access the Sports Stadium at Heffron Centre, turn right from the main entrance. The Heffron Centre Reception desk is further on the right. Enter through the manual glass door opposite reception. Inside are two basketball courts with timber floors, marked for various ball games. Tiered seating lines two of the walls and timber bench seats are positioned on the left wall with wheelchair allocations.

Additionally, digital screens are installed and a net is suspended from the ceiling which can be used to divide the courts. Distinctive paintings of sports legends adorn the upper wall, and a unique gold design extends along the left glass wall. The industrial ceiling features exposed white beams and air conditioning vents.

Gymnastics

To access the Gymnastics area, turn right from the main entrance. The Gymnastics centre is located at the end of the corridor beyond the Heffron Centre reception, with access through manually opening, glass doors. Change rooms are located adjacent to the gymnastics centre and bench chairs are provided with a view of the gymnastics activities.

The area is enclosed by glass walls, and the floor is made of blue bouncy foam. Various gymnastics equipment such as balance beams, single bar trainers, horizontal bars, vault springboards, mats, and pommel horses are available. The high ceiling features an industrial look with exposed white metal beams. Gymnastic users can also observe activities in the stadium through the glass windows.
