Deception Bay Swimming Pool Visual Story
Arrival at Deception Bay Swimming Pool
Deception Bay Swimming Pool, situated in the coastal suburb of Maine Terrace, features a dedicated car park to the rear and southern side of the facility, with emerging trees providing ample shade. Contoured grass banks envelop the aquatic facilities, offering privacy from the surrounding roads.
Two main buildings are prominent on-site: the reception and amenities building, constructed of brick in a mustard yellow with a corrugated iron roof, and a rusty red-coloured industrial building that houses a gym operated by a separate organisation.
Entrance at Deception Bay Swimming Pool
The mustard yellow brick administration building is separated into two zones with the central breezeway entry. Significant pool and security gates create a notable barrier entry to facilitate the paid ticket entry. On the right are the reception and kiosk services and a micro retail offering of swimwear and goggles.
To the left of the breezeway are the male and female bathrooms plus an accessible bathroom with a press-button entry. Directly ahead are the aquatic pools.
Outdoor Aquatic Facilities at Deception Bay Swimming Pool
Upon moving past the gated entry, you enter the aquatic area. To the left from reception, past the gymnasium building, is the 50m pool. To the right of reception are the learn-to-swim and splash park facilities, with large shade cloths hung overhead to provide shade over a section of the pool.
A push button near the splash park activates the water park. Picnic tables and sun loungers are arranged on the pool deck and under the shades. Beyond this, there is an open grass area for picnics and a large undercover BBQ.
