Caloundra Indoor Stadium Visual Story
Arrival at Caloundra Indoor Stadium
The arrival area at Caloundra Indoor Stadium features mature paperbark trees that offer shade and a touch of nature within the urban setting. The single-story building has a contemporary design with a spacious entrance and a sleek overhang. Its exterior combines concrete, steel, and glass, creating a modern look.
Rows of parking spaces include eight accessible car parking spaces, with pedestrian crossings for safe access. Step-free concrete pathways lead from the car park to the entrance. Visitors are likely arriving, parking, and heading towards the stadium, enjoying a relaxed atmosphere with sunlight filtering through the trees.
Reception
The entrance to the indoor stadium features double automatic glass sliding doors, leading from a concrete path to a carpeted area. Inside, the space transitions to wooden floorboards of the indoor courts. The architecture is modern with high ceilings and ample natural light.
On the left is the reception, and on the right, a lift and stairwell provide access to different levels. The venue has clear signage and wide pathways. During events, trestle tables may be set up for ticketing. Visitors are likely to engage in sports activities or spectate, creating an excited and energetic atmosphere.
Indoor Courts
Caloundra Indoor Stadium features four indoor courts with varnished floorboards, which, due to spotlights, create a bright and reflective environment. The stadium's industrial design includes metal beams and high ceilings, giving it a spacious feel. For big events, the grandstands pull out to provide extra seating around a show court, reducing the open space area and providing an arena atmosphere.
The hollow-sounding floorboards amplify the sound of bouncing balls, creating an energetic atmosphere. Visitors are likely to engage in games, practice sessions, or spectating with an overall excited and lively atmosphere. Regular sports played include basketball, netball, futsal, pickleball, table tennis, badminton, and volleyball.
Kiosk & Amenities
Upon entering through the automatic glass sliding doors, a left turn along the corridor reveals the courts on the right. The Kiosk, with a white brick and wooden counter façade, is positioned on the left, offering a range of hot food, snacks, baked goods, coffee, and cold drinks. Tables and chairs are arranged along the corridor, providing seating for visitors to eat while watching the courts.
Nearby, accessible bathrooms have wide doors, grab bars, and an accessible shower with a shower bench and baby changing station. The atmosphere is lively, with visitors socialising, engaging in sports, and enjoying refreshments.
Meeting Rooms
To access the Meeting Rooms, turn left from the entrance and follow the corridor, passing the courts on the right. The room is a modern, well-lit space with white brick walls and blue accents. Entry is through an inward-opening door.
Inside, a central table with chairs surrounds it, and a whiteboard and multiple screens are available for presentations. Nearby are first aid facilities, bathrooms, and a small kitchenette. This area supports meetings, training, or team discussions in a calm, organised setting that encourages focus and collaboration.
Outdoor Netball Courts
The outdoor netball courts at Caloundra Indoor Stadium are bordered by lush greenery, with vibrant murals on the building’s exterior. The courts feature blue and green surfaces, and accessible paved pathways lead to shaded tiered seating around the courts. Tall floodlights are in place to support evening play on some courts.
The space is ideal for netball games, practice sessions, and casual play, creating an energetic atmosphere. The area is surrounded by trees and well-kept grass. Sunlight enhances the warmth, making this area a lively hub for sports enthusiasts to enjoy the outdoors.
