Arrival at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre
The Ascot Vale Leisure Centre, a sizable white structure crafted from concrete and glass, stands at the intersection of Epsom and Langs Road in Ascot Vale. Adjacent to the entrance are accessible car parking spaces, while bike racks await cyclists.
A step-free ramp from the car park leads to the entry foyer, while another grants access to the entrance, accessible via steps with handrails. A taxi drop-off and pick-up zone is positioned directly in front of the entrance. Enter the Leisure Centre through sleek automatic glass sliding doors.
Entrance and Café
Upon entering the Ascot Vale Leisure Centre, reception is to the left. The counter has a wheelchair-accessible section, and nearby is a small retail area. Adjacent to this is the Community Lounge, stocked with pre-loved books.
Further along is the Café, with movable tables and chairs for visitors to enjoy coffee or a meal. The centre also offers a Changing Place Facility accessible to all visitors. To reach it, turn left from reception and proceed down the hallway for 40 meters.
Inside, amenities include an adult-sized change table, a hoist, a shower with a bench chair, and grab rails. The room is spacious providing ample space for carers or support workers to move around.
Aquatic Centre
The aquatic centre is accessible through automatic glass sliding doors near the Café area. Upon entry, a locker area is on the left, while the Splash Pool lies directly ahead, promising fun and safe water play with its gentle beach entry.
The facility includes a 25-metre pool, and a Program Pool, all equipped with ramps and handrails. For relaxation, there's a Sauna and a Steam room. To the left are Family/Accessible Change Rooms with toilets and change tables.
Turning right leads to the Family Change Villas and adjacent are the accessible bathrooms with showers. Additionally, two aquatic wheelchairs are available for use ensuring easier access for those with mobility issues.
Gymnasium & Spin Class
To access the gym from reception, follow the lobby, turn right, and then left. Enter through the turnstile gate. Inside, a locker for belongings is positioned on the right.
The gym offers an extensive range of equipment including treadmills, bikes, rowers, steppers, and cross-trainers, along with boxing gear for varied workout routines. The floor transitions from timber to black rubber tiles.
Additionally, the centre provides a selection of spin classes such as RPM, Sprint, and Cycle, all featuring state-of-the-art bikes. The Cycle Studio is in a separate room located adjacent to the gym's entrance. Separate male and female bathrooms/change rooms are available in front of the Cycle Studio.
Group Fitness Stadium
To reach the Group Fitness Stadium, turn right from the check-in desk, then turn right again after passing the stairs. Proceed straight, then turn left through the turnstile gates.
The Stadium is located to the right of the Change Rooms. Enter through the manual outward-opening door. Inside, the entrance is equipped with turnstiles and a two-tiered step with handrails.
The Stadium is a spacious area with polished timber floors, white brick walls, and a low ceiling with exposed metal beams, large aircon vents, and insulation foam. Various equipment is lined on the sides, with a platform positioned in the middle.
Kidspace
Turning right from the check-in desk, visitors enter the Kids Space through double manual glass doors. Inside, a reception desk with a floral façade stands on the left, while a staff office is on the right.
A display rack for toys is on the left, and the room features a grey carpet and light-coloured walls. Various toys and recreational items are arranged, including slides, a net climber, playhouses, tables, chairs, and various toys for kids.
The floor transitions from a grey carpet to a pink mat with a circular design, adding a splash of colour.
Pilates Room
Upon arriving at the Ascot Vale Leisure Centre, proceed to the right of the check-in desk to find the stairs with handrails leading to the upper level. Entrance to the Studio is through a manual sliding glass door.
Inside is a spacious area with a white ceiling and timber floors, offering a panoramic view of the aquatic centre below. On the right wall, floor-to-ceiling mirrors enhance the space, allowing users to monitor their form during workouts. In the middle of the room, rows of Pilates reformer apparatus are arranged.
